Honda India will launch the Jazz on the 9th of June this year. The engine of the Honda Jazz is a “Made for India” 1.2 litre i-VTEC powerplant which is Euro IV ready. Honda will launch the Jazz in only one variant, the Jazz S. Honda might launch a more feature rich variant later and call it the Jazz V. Sorry for resurfacing so late. Missed out a lot. I sat in a Jazz in South Africa. We were deciding upon which car to take for our 4000km long journey. It was the older generation Jazz with the same i-DSi motor that used to power our older Honda City here. The interiors too, were totally different from the current generation Jazz. But they were very comfy for a hatchback, better that any hatchback in India today. The boot space was tremendously good, atleast 350lt+.
The reason we took the Yaris because we got manual transmission in it and we all know what the auto box of the older Honda City was like. Another problem was the protruding transmission channel which would have made seating for 5 a little uncomfortable. Taris, in comparison, didn't have any protruding transmission channel.

@Hummer. We were at Port Elizabeth. We were to drive from there to Durban and back and then from there to Cape town and back in a span of 10 days.

@roadrocket, the jazz was very comfortable in the sense it had good leg, head, knee and shoulder room. Under-thigh support was decent but the problem was that the seats were a tad low for that ideal seating position. Overall a pretty impressive package.

It'll be from around 6lac to 7.5, or even 8lac. But as I said, the overpriced City with no alloy wheels sell. So theres nothing wrong with the Jazz.

it's too expensive, people can't really go wrong with a sedan, but Jazz is putting money at risk.

Enthusiasts will also spend their money on this expensive hatch and its quite rightly said by dcargod,"when the overpriced City with no alloy wheels sell. So theres nothing wrong with the Jazz."

absolutely, and also remember here HONDA is what sells and not models, people would buy honda what ever they offer even if other brand offer more features with good pricing as well, so expect Jazz to do good in here too.

thats true but i feel the price going anywhere over 7 lacs will not have a warm welcome. because no matter what, hatchbacks in india are always expected to be cheap. thats the reason cars like Merc A class stay away from indian market. the car will sell for sure. but will it be a major hit or an above average hit depends on the pricing that honda comes up with. if they can get the ex-showroom price even around 6 lacs this thing will click.

thats very true..even though most of its competitors have alloy wheels n other addons as standard on top end version it doesnt affect citys sales. N when u buy a honda u will really enjoy that brand.i can say this coz i have never faced any trouble withh this brand. Not Even with our companys Accord 2.4.

Yup. I don't think that even a hatch like the Grande Punto will be able to out-do this car. The comparison between the Punto and the Jazz will be something worth waiting for.

true, the main reason why people wont go for the punto is the ASS and also the problem of spare parts, if they had a good ASS and spares like the MS and hyundai, it will surely out-do the honda jazz
