Hello All,
So, Heres my Maruti 800 DX 15,000 Kms report, I posted a 13,000 Kms review on TAI but i think it has been lost now.
Anyways, This one is a short and similar like of 13K Kms.
On December 31st 2002, This white beauty came to home as my first car and even after 6 years it has been serving at its best.Heres a list of my likes and dislikes in this car.
I Love It -
I Hate it! -
Problems Experienced Yet -
I've faced quite a few problems in this car but Maruti Suzuki's excellent After Sales Service has always kept me smiling.Another reason for the smile is that its spares are wallet friendly.
So, Heres a list of troubles I've faced in my car -

Now, Take a look at the Accessories which I've installed till now -

Over All Experience -
Overall I've had an excellent experience with my car, As I said in beginning, Its Maruti's excellent ASS which has kept me always smiling, My next car is also going to be from Maruti's stable and about the 800, i don't think that MSIL should even think to discontinue it, Theres no need to make a car (Cervo) to compete with tiny nano, because everyone knows that 800 is way better than it, Also it was the first car which made India's dream of riding on four wheels true.:winkthumb:
Was trying little bit of "Off Roading" with this li'l beast :)

I Love It -
- Most of the controls are within drivers reach, Except the aftermarket Music system but no worries, Theres a Remote for it.
- Road is very clearly visible from driver's seat.
- Very short turning radius- Very useful while making U-Turns in congested areas.
- Good Steering grip and its quite direct even after without power steering.
- Rear seats are quite comfortable atleast if we consider it as a cheapest car on earth.
- Also, Because of its short dimensions the Maruti 800 proves to be a great city car!
I Hate it! -
- The Dashboard very badly reflects badly on windshield mainly during sunny days.
- The Map reading lamp isn't at all effective, I'm thinking to install one more.
- Tiny Boot! - The boot space is one of the biggest -ve, I miss it during Railway station and Airport trips.
- Theres no rear door pockets, I wish if there was, Atleast one.
- No Parcel Shelf, Actually most of the MSIL cars don't have it but anyways I installed it the next day when I bought my car.
- Poor Rear Drum brakes - The rear brakes are really not so good, Have also troubled me once.
- Panel Gaps! - Few of the parts on exterior body have very big panel gaps, Looks odd.
- Loose Bumpers - Bumpers tend to loos very soon.
- Rattling! Body parts rattle very much when on a move, As they say, It comes as standard on every MSIL car.lol!

- The very first problem was the front left tyre puncture! Got it fixed but after an year it again
blowed twice!
Means total of three times! - Second problem was that a thief broke my car's left wiper but I got it fixed for Rs.70 only.
- Another problem was that the car's underbody started corroded, Got that too fixed soon and coated with anti rust paint.
- Now, Few months before my car's battery stopped working but it was okay! As, I had to replace it after 5yrs!
- There were few more minor problems like dents and all which I've not mentioned here.
Accessories Installed -
Now, Take a look at the Accessories which I've installed till now -
- New lock pins on doors
- BANG AND OLUFSEN MUSIC SYSTEM!lol, Just kidding, Sony Xplod Music System.
- Wooden finish on dashboard
- Three spoke wheel Covers, Planning for Alloys now.
- Left side ORVM, because it doesn't comes standard on an 800!
- Rear Parcel Shelf
- Centre Console with CupHolder
- New Seat Covers which are now getting old.
- New Steering Cover, same with it too!
- Ambi Pure Perfume
- Side guards on bumpers
- Four sun shades
- ...And now am planning for some good tints!
