Coming back to the xylo, i hope the gearbox gets in line after miles put on the vehicle.... Just got a set of company mud flaps fitted, found them to be the best & cheapest option (191/-) but then they should have been factory fitted as all other models of 'mahindra' are fitted with them. Even more idiotic is the company not providing designated slots for their installation especially at the rear end, where one has to drill holes into the wheel arch. Fail to understand how the company overlooked to make provisions for fitment of them flaps. Am also waiting for the dealer to get stock of the floor mats of which there are three options - plastic, rubber & carpet types. The plastic ones are least desired as they not only look cheap but are useless as well. Also the ones available at accessorie shops are not of good quality & so am still without the most urgently required mats. Thankfully the floor carpets are protected with a plastic sheets at most places which will save the carpets from getting dirtied to an extent. Wonder why can't the company think of providing these basic fitments as standard, which really gets me irritated. :frustration:

Re: Mahindra Xylo
Raj, i think you've been taken for a ride.... I've never spent more than 2.5 k for a routine service of my innova. Infact there is no need to go for 5000kms service in the first place. Can you tell us about what all is done @ 5k service that warrants the charges that have been collected from you?

Re: Mahindra Xylo
@ napster, i had reserved that number nearly a month before, but another 3 fools too booked it after me , and it was placed for bid. and on the day before bidding a mediator ( he works there in the RTO) came and i told him i was ready to give the remaining 3 persons 5000/- each, but he said that they r also ready for that, last i agreed i'll take some another number. later came to know that the mediator and the guy who took the number were friends. Anyway I apologize to u all that's not my reg number. I got another ( fancy number itself without paying anything). Just kept this number(photoshoped) because i had just hoped for it. Fancy numbers like 9999 was taken for 68000/- ,Number 100 last time was taken for 35000/- by a montero, 5 for 28000/-, 5555 for 50000/- Most of them compromised before bidding.

Re: Mahindra Xylo
This number business has gone outta hand. People are ready to throw obscene amounts of money just for a particular fancy number. At the end of the day, its just a number & its better to utilize that money elsewhere. Same with number plates.

Re: Mahindra Xylo
@vlad, agree to your views, there is nothing great in getting a fancy number by giving huge amount.

Re: Mahindra Xylo
Had a 400 km drive yesterday with my friends & family.. total 8 members. The baggage was used as seat in the midlle row centre and hand rest as backrest and an extra pillow for support. So, easily accomodated 8 of easily . after the journey i asked everyone espescially those who sat in the last row. they said they enjoyed and didn't had the feeling they sat in the back row since there is good view to the front and to the outside and didn't have the suffocation of sitting in the back row since the space was ample and the A/c vents in the last was very powerful, that they had to close it after some time. And as i drove i felt the bouncing was nil now. Which i had observed everytime i travelled with 2 to 4 person. Got an overall mileage of 14kmpl. Didn't have the tireness of driving for long time. And i loved the vehicle for it's perfomance. Hope it stays in this condition always. Everyone loved the music system too. Also tried the bed setup for a short night journey. In fact, one of the best job of xylo's interior designers. For those who have long day/night journey's often will find this a real boon.

Re: Mahindra Xylo
i agree with the money thing but i like the number "10" very much and what im going to do with my next car is that ill move on and book my next vehicle in my native, over there my uncle is the DSP and also people wont prefer numbers which has 0 in it, so for sure ill get it without even paying a paisa :D

Re: Mahindra Xylo
Ready for a shock guys????
My Xylo which has covered only 150 kms so far has already developed a major problem,
that being a major oil leak from the gear box oil seal, at the rear end which gets connected to the 'Universal Joint' & propellor shaft.... Had noticed the leak yesterday evening & today promptly went to the dealer workshop & showed the problem to the concerned people. Since its just being launched a shortwhile back & that they have not come across this kind of problem so far with the vehicle, they do not have the required Oil seal with them. I am promised that they will get the part & replace it by day after.
I had this sinking feeling for quite some time that somethings amiss with the gearbox, which has come true. I really am depressed & pissed off at myself for going in for a mahindra product again! :worst:
Miss my Innova a lot!!!!!!
Will keep u guys posted on the situation.....
