Mahindra Xylo: Pics on Pg.4!

Hi guys!!!Mahindra Xylo (popularly known as Ingenio) is all set to hit the roads in December. To ignite a buzz, Mahindra has started a teaser campaign. Xylo Mahindra’s second MUV after voyager is not just meant for Indian markets but also for international markets. Mahindra has been heavily testing the Xylo for many months as the scorpio maker wish to ensure higher standard of quality. :D

Xylo would be powered by a common rail 2.6L diesel engine producing over 100bhp+ max power and 283Nm of max torque. Initially the Xylo would come with a manual transmission and down the line we can expect an autobox for Xylo. Xylo will be priced between Rs6.5 lakh to Rs7.5 lakh. In India, Xylo will take on the Toyota’s Innova. :) :bball:

Yeah got the info today about the Xylo launch. And along with the 2.6 ltr unit, the 2.2 M Hawk unit from Scorpio may also get it way in the upper end models and this engine would make the Xylo a worthy competitor of Innova. Mahindra has upped the quality levels in this MUV and some 1 lac kms real world testing has been done in India and abroad. The scorpio is the best SUV in its class and hope Xylo repeats the history.

Well,from the teasers of Xylo it looks like its really very fresh product from M&M this time!...but lets wait n watch!...will it really be able to compete with toyota's best seller - The Innova! :)

M & M has its own loyal clientèle and many will swear by the XyLo should it turn out to be a success. M& M is gearing up with the new Bolero CDRe, XyLo and the Scorpio to suit the buyers in these categories.

No buddy!..M&M has not disclosed anything about Xylo yet!...all they have disclosed are these teasers! :D

ACI's computer generated image is better than this one. Note the grills are like scorpio's, headlamps too like scorpio which is pulled higher on one side. I beleive that unlike these CG images, the car will be quite a looker.
And yes, Mahindra has said that the suspension has been tuned by Lotus, the chassis will have more torsional rigidity for good ride and handling.

yup CC M &M have worked on this new product to create a class product. Also heard that this will be offering 4x4 ride too and also might come with its new MHawk engine on top end variants. Also this car is goin to launch on 18th Dec at Taj nashik. Waiting to see this one. :yup:

Thanks vijay for the information about the 18th Dec launch. Yes the CG images are just a figment of imagination of the netizen and the real one may be more aesthetic as Crazy Cat rightly says.
What I am wondering is that M&M have priced the Bolero CRDe at Rs 7.92 L which is well within the Xylo territory.Bolero is not worth anything above Rs 6 to 6.5L with any powerplant.

Waiting for 18th to come, as we get Xylo and Linea will also be launched(16th) by that date.
My dad is ready to replace Logan, so we may buy Linea or Xylo in the month of March.
There is a 4wd option for Xylo but it will come later. At the launch only, 2wd is offered with 2.6 CRDe engine which puts out 110bhp of power.

one of my friends who supplies automobile plastic parts to various comapnies said they really had to struggle with mahindra for the xylo. mahindra wanted top quality plastic and their product were rejected 11 times!
this shows that mahindra is really trying to build a top quality vehicle to compete with the innova. hope it works!

Well, same here!........a very kind M&M official has just told me something about the NEW XYLO!!!!!

Here are those words he said ,

"Spacing of the XYLO is brilliant , the comfort and luxury quotient inside is very high . have been getting crazy ideas for Xylo, think of all the things you could do with that much space! not only I can fit the best music systems inside..to go on a party mode.. one can actually make it a small limo with all luxuries to indulge in.. the looks are bold enough for you to drive into an upmarket party".
The exact specifications he was not allowed to reveal. But we can expect a powerful and economical car,and it is very few times that you get more space in a car and still keep it stylish and trendy.

the launch date of the xylo has been postponed from december to jan, most probably 9th jan. this is because of the terror attacks and the economy crisis.

Independent in the front
Multilink in the rear
But has incorporated new designs in shocks and new mounting mechanism for superior comfort

Front Discs & Rear Drums.10" booster in the Master. Top model to have ABS as an offering.
Tyres on 15" rims

Other features:

Roof a/c on the likes of Innova(independent for all three rows)
MBF-Mahindra Body function Module-used to control all electricals

DIS-Driver Information System on Speedo. Inside/Outside Temperature, Relative humidity, Fuel Balance in Km, Vehicle mileage and average speed etc parameters are covered.
