HONDA JAZZ 1.2 L VTEC

The competetion is becoming intense! especially in the premium hatchback segment. 5 days from now we will see Maruti Suzuki will roll out its roomy hatch Ritz. Today Honda has come up more details on its upcoming Jazz which is due on next month. Honda might have perfectly timed the announcement of 1.2L VTEC engine exclusively made for India. Honda says that the 1.2 L i-VTEC engine is specially developed for the Indian Market. Honda’s 1.2L VTEC powertrain is a four - cylinder, 1198 cc engine featuring Programmed Fuel Injection delivering class - leading Power of 90 PS (66 kW) at 6,200 rpm and Torque of 110 Nm (11.2 kg-m) at 4800 rpm while giving impressive fuel economy of 16.1 km/l as per ARAI test data. In line with Honda’s mission to reduce its environmental footprint, the new engine is E10 compatible and has Euro IV emission levels.

16.1 kmpl?? i guess this is on a highway with no cars on it, :lol:
1.2ltr engine and 16.1kmpl is too good

Yeah, 16.1 is impossible. Only Kappa gives this much in i10.
This should be around 12-13 Kmpl.

I believe that Jazz will return more mileage than all premium cars, inclusive of the i10 kappa too. Honda cars are always light in weight and their efficient engines should return good figures.

if it does give 16.1 in the city traffic then this thing is going to have good future in india

I don't think it will give that high mileage. May be an overall figure.

16.1 is too high for a 1.2ltr engine

yes unbelievable but true with honda's engines which are lighter and more FE then other manufacturers, but for 1.2L engine i dont think in actual conditions it would give overall above 14-15.

Jazz looks too good. I guess it'll score well over all hatches in space and comfort.

but mind you it wont be looking like another hatch in market its really big and long as compared to others in market.

i think this has a very big boot compared to other hatchbacks

Around 410 Liters, LOL which means it has a bigger boot than the Civic!!! :lol!:
