Maruti Ritz coming; Now launched

Re: Maruti Ritz coming; Now launched
As per the earlier reports, Suzuki has couple of new models for India in store. If they can bring Wagon R Stingray it will have a very good market I guess. All the new models, except the Kizashi will compete in the 3 to 8 lakhs price tag. Seems like Suzuki had removed Wagon R from their gloabl site as well. :( So some of the existing models in India may die! Think about M800 & Wagon R being removed from the Indian product line .

Then Maruti will suffer a huge dent in sales.

I don't think Wagon-R will be replaced with Ritz. Come on guys, its a Maruti, they won't discontinue it so soon and that too with high sales.

If Maruti can keep an unsafe car like the Omni in the Indian market for so long, then there is no reason for them to remove the WagonR from their list.

MSIL are removing M800 and Omni in 12 cities next year when the Bharat 4 Norms come into enforcement and by 2013-2014, when the Euro 4 Norms are enforced, they will be phased out completely.

they are removing current models and new omnio2 and new 800 would come in 2010 from MSL with newer norms and new kb series engine.

Re: Maruti Ritz coming; Now launched
“Once Euro-IV emission norms is applied across the country, which is likely to happen around 2015-16, then M800 and Omni may not be a saleable product. We will have to eventually phase (them) out then,” MSI Chairman R C Bhargava said. “We regularly introduce new models in the market, but at present there is no plan to bring out substitutes for these two cars.In any case, we are selling very small numbers in these cities as they have opted for higher standard cars. Our main markets for the small car are the rural areas, where we will continue to sell.” he added.
One of my friends working in MSI mentioned that a possible strategy would be to make ALTO as the base model from MSI (which means a further price reduction ????). Then it will give room for Splash (Ritz) to be placed well with in Estilo-Wagon R-Swift models.

Well...don't know whether this information is true, but it is said that the 800 will be removed and the Alto will be pushed down to the 800 segment, then there will be place for the Cervo ;)

Seats resemble Swift, except for the third headrest at the rear. Its been common practice for MS to share parts. The steering wheel in Swift, A-star, Ritz, SX4, Vitara are all same. Cost cutting?

Boot/luggage space as small as A-star
I checked a few UK reviews where Ritz/Splash already sells. Most of them mention that boot space is very small. It is 178liters including the 36 liter under-floor compartment. This compartment will be taken up by the spare tire in India, leaving only 142 liters of luggage space in the standard above-floor boot.
This is practically the same as the AStar's non-existent boot of 129 liters! (just 13 liters more).
I hope MSL is not shooting itself by launching an MAV with such small boot. I know the rear-seat will fold flat, but where do you expect the family to seat in??

Re: Maruti Ritz coming; Now launched
This is a bad thing. With Hyundai playing its game with space, interior quality and features, MS is playing its game with weight on its head. Its past reputation and good marketing team are helping in sales. Their products lacks many things like space, rattle, visibility,etc.. They should take care of it soon, otherwise with competitions increasing MS will have a tough time to hold its position.
