Maruti Ritz coming; Now launched

Hope this gives some tough competition to i20

new also :affraid: means astar was not the replacement, and hope ritz doesnt impact the swift's sales with the same diesel 1.3lDDis engine as this would be placed near swift and above wagonR, CC no way is this ritz going to affect i20's sales as both of them are in different league with i20 being premium hatch.

I hope Ritz will not fall in Premium segment, rather it can try to give a competetion to i10.

For me Ritz looks like a mix of i10 & U-Va :)

The windows reminds me of i10(after the front quarter glass). But overall i'm not impressed by its looks. Further comments can be said only after seeing the Indian version.

the intresting part to see here is that its top-end version would have abs and airbags in both petrol and diesel engines, which might give competition to current segment leader swift.Also you might be able to see alloys on top-end model.

I fits pricing is closer to Swift, then Swift might face some serious competition. But if that case arise, i think Maruti will create a artificial scarcity for Ritz and limit its sales and maintain its hype, which i guess they have done for Swift and Dzire.

CC, company is going to price it between current wagonR and swift so may be between 4 to 5.3 i guess, it surely would give swift good competetion and yes CC, thats the common strategy from maruti to create scarcity and maintain its demand.

This car was due in April but why they have shifted it to may?
Anyways it looks very nice car to me and seems like another successful product from MSIL.

dont know that hummer, did heard that company is phasing out swift but doesnt seem that working as its the best selling car from MSIL right now and they wont do that, but the same engines plants in both thesecars ie, petrol 1.2kb series and 1.3 multijet diesel will definately compete themselves or it might be shift for swift customers to ritz.

The Ritz will be priced between wagonR and Swift, So there will not be any confliction. Also they aren't going to phase swift any soon,its currently topping sales chart and why will they discnt. it when they haven't discont. cars like 800 and versa yet!

yeah thats what am i saying, that swift is topping charts and there are no signs of prompt deliveries, forget of phasing it out.

So Splash is renamed as Ritz for India..?

Looks cool.. And no, Maruti won't phase out Swift or any other small car.. Maruti wants to maintain its leadership in the Small car segment.. So its giving too many options to customers.. So what if Ritz canabalises the sales of Swift or Wagon R? Atleast customers won't go to other small car manufacturers..

Now Maruti has got 800 against nano,
Alto
Zen Estilo against Spark,
Wagon R against Santro
A-star against i10
Swift against Getz/ U-va
Splash against new Spark..
Now all that Maruti needs is, 1 more premium hatch against i20/ Jazz/ Fabia

And for that I think they should bring in the SX4 hatch. It comes as a 2WD OR with a bit more height and 4WD.

Great idea Zal.. SX4 hatch will be really Hot one.. With good Ground clearence and option of 4wd, it will rock for sure.. Indian market seems to be matured now for these kind of vehicles.. Fusion is fav car of many but poor service of Ford and high cost of spares kept customers away from it.. That won't be an issue with Maruti.. SX4 hatch with its rally heritage will be the perfect one for our roads..

lol. Yes, the Ritz does look like a MPV to the true sense of the term. :lol!:

I hate tall boy design, it makes the car look like MPV with no sporty character. This makes the Ritz ugly too.
