Nice one buddy!..its really sad to see such a crueltywith vintages!...actually not only vintages but its with our present cars too!...there are some cars parked near my house(not so near actually)...they all are eating dust and also some of their parts are missing! :affraid: ......some of their seats are stolen, some of their bumpers,headlamps etc etc!....will try to snap their pics this weekend!... :)

Even I havent heard of Hearse, But have seen these types of Amby :)

The Amby hearse is essentially an Amby that was available in the 1980's with front body and rear chassis to build upon station wagon bodies or else. This car featured in the picture has the body built to carry dead bodies for cremation. Sadly, the car itself is a dead body now.

@Crazy cat, i think it was the police compound where they keep all the unclaimed vehicles and vehicles which met with an accident... its in navi mumbai...

That was in my though actually. I've seen similar conditions in my city also. Instead of wasting cars like this, they can sell the cars through auction and get some income for the Govt.

m_hummer_freak excellent pictures, thanks.The vintage car is an Austin 10 from around 1936-37(pre-World War II)which is actually from the VINTAGE ERA. Any pre -31.12.1937 car, as per the UK classification is vintage. The Austin is very original with the original meters, steering, dash, lights(front head lights and rear number plate lights). Even the Austin monogram is seen above the front grille.

ohk... thanks anjan... i was confused if its Austin monogram or sumthin else... u know wat i had seen that car even bein driven!! i was amazed to see such a vintage car move...

Yes archit thats a bit disturbing to see cars in such conditions. Here's a Chevrolet 1929 model straight layout 6 cylinder engine which is rotting but may see better days.

is this car up for sale??

Maybe archit - it is under restoration now and maybe the owner decides to sell it, as he has been doing always.

Thanks archit. Vijay the Peugeot 403 is very original, looking at its meters, dash and the outside looks. The front grille and indicators are not original.
The Peugeot 403 was produced from 1955 to 1960 and later till 1966. In fact, there were some 403 's in the French ruled Pondicherry till the late 1970's.All erstwhile French colonies were good markets for this car.

The 403 was designed by Pininfarina. The 1468 cc petrol engine produced 65 hp @5000 rpm.1214100 units were sold between April 1955 till December 1966 and it included the 403 sedan, estate/saloon,pick-up and convertibel/coupe versions.
