Just checked in ACI, 60 comes in 9.13secs, 80 in 15.79 and 100 in 29.78 secs. I thought with limited top speed of 105kph, it should perform well at 90 or 100 but it takes lot of time from 80-100 in flat out acceleration.Serious planning is required to overtake.

Carazoo ka salaam, they say Scorpio CRDe 2.6 can do a 0-100 in 10 secs

TATA MOTORS SELLS 500,000 NANO FORMS, EARNS $3 THUS FAR!

Tata Motors announced 500,000 booking forms of the Tata Nano
has been sold by the company through its 30,000 outlets in the country. The
booking forms which are available till midnight April 25 in dealer showrooms
trading Tata products, have sold enough to generate U.S.$3 million for the
company.
One can purchase booking forms for 300 rupees (USD 6) in outlets which deal
not only with cars, but other Tata products such as watches and clothing line.
The booking was pronounced open on the 9th of this month while forms were made
attainable to customers from the 1st.
As soon as the deadline is arrived on the 25th, 100,000 winners will be
picked randomly by a computer and the cars will be distributed starting from
July.
Tata Motors has tied up with a handful of financiers such as SBI, Tata Motor
Finance, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Punjab National Bank to make the booking and
financing easier.
With about 6 days remaining, we can expect the tally anywhere from 750,000 to
100,000. That’s about $4.5 million to $6 million revenue just through the
booking forms!
U.K’s leading newspaper, The Daily Telegraph reported just after
three days of activity that 51,000 forms was unenthusiastic and termed the Nano’s debut “poor." My English friends, you can safely

good info vibs, yes tata already targetted this by collections from forms across nation and thats a pretty good figures to collect without deliveries of vehicle.

Now let us see how many are going to regret their decisions, if they are not alloted in the first lot, especially the customers for whom Nano will be their first car. As you all know that booking amount will not be refunded, if you cancel it and waiting period will be very high to make customers lose interests. Eventually Nano's drawbacks will come out by that time.

yup exactly CC, first batch of cars would let the market know the real condition of this car and acceptance in market, rear engine heating up rear seats, battery below driver's seats are some of those things to check out.

Ya vijay!I too read that, Don't know what will he do of so many nanos, His garage will be called "Nano Garage". lol!

Was in a Tata showroom for a few hours so saw the huge "Nano" crowds and the last minute bookings
taking place over there.

Apart from the car being too small its wheels are also quite small

Bookings for the world’s cheapest car are over for the first phase. Tata Motors is still counting the number of bookings received so far from various retail and banking outlets. The current booking numbers are expected to breach the 10 lakh mark which is a record in the history of Indian automobile industry. According to the Tata Motors’ official spokesperson, “The booking for the world's cheapest car Nano launched by the Tatas has ended but the numbers are still being counted.”

Most of the banks have also failed to reveal the actual number of bookings done by them. According to one of the websites offering online booking for Nano, they have made nearly 10,000 bookings 50 percent which were done by credit cards and 50 percent by cheque payments.

On the other hand, booking forms remained piled up at various dealerships and retail outlets. Dealers had expected a huge demand for the forms but some of the dealers have still got unsold forms piled up with them after the bookings have closed for the first phase. Dealers had purchased forms at Rs 250 from the company and sold to the customers at Rs. 300. Tata Motors spokesperson refused to comment on the issue of the unsold forms.

“We have no such issues from dealers on our table. Hypothetically, even if there were to be such an issue, it would be an internal matter of the company and dealers and need not be commented publicly,” said the Tata official. Most of the customers have stayed away from the bookings due to the uncertainty gripping the delivery schedule, unavailability of test drive and some confusion over the booking procedure.

According to the industry sources, most of the bookings received are for the mid and the top end model of Nano with only few people opting for the base model.

Well this shows that nano base doesnt oomph buyers for cheapest car in world, we always expected its top end and mid model to sell maximum.

Most of the people are preferring the feature loaded top end or mid version because price difference is not much from the base verision.

Ya, I too liked the first picture, It shows that our Maruti 800 is longer than Nano and in terms of height nano wins but whats the use of so much height?We have to travel in car by sitting and standing!lol! ;)
