Tata to launch Nano on January 26th

What a way to celebrate this republic day, Pune mirror reports that Tata might launch the Nano on January 26th. Tata had earlier said the Nano would hit the market in the first quarter of 2009 (January - April). Nano already has more than lakh registered customers and it is a good news for every auto enthusiast to finally see the people’s car on road. Highly placed sources at top Tata dealers and on-field executives, on the condition of anonymity revealed, “Yes we have inputs that clearly indicate the Nano will roll out on 26 January. :cheers:

Actually this news is still not confirmed!..but hope this beacomes true and much much awaited nano finally rolls out!:)

Even if this news is confirmed, more than the 1lac registered customers will get first. Following this will be a long waiting period and it would take a year to get a normal demand. Only after this, the Nano will be freely available.

Oh thats great news. I do hope it comes out then and doesn't get delayed

Ratan Tata said in a press conference few weeks back before mumbai blast that we wont make people wait for too long and will start selling out nano on limited basis for customers in India and few across globe. Hope this is the news and they does get started by this month.

Nano Bookings to Start from March-April 2009


Tata Motors souces said that the company would start Nano booking from March/April 2009.

According to sources, Tata Motors has sent 3 models of Nano from its Pantnagar facility to Dehra Dun, Almora and Ranikhet for test runs.





Government of Uttarakhand had provided Tata Motors an extra 45-acres of land at Pantnagar facility in last week only. Nano was initially intended to be commercially introduced around Durga Puja this year but has been delayed to the last quarter of this financial year.


The company is planning to produce the Nano from its various locations, including Pune and Pantnagar till the mother plant at Sanand is ready.

hey the confirm news is that 4 containers from pune factory of TATA MOTORS headed towards gujarat for its VIBRANT GUJARAT summit, where nano is being showcased reached its destination with police force accompanying the vehicles and have reached stockyard yesterday. From maharashtra-gujarat border, these deployment are being given to these containers throughout gujarat.

But Nano will not be launched in Metros as i have read in some articles.

TATA's vision is to make it people's car & they want to launch it only in few remote cities.

i have always wondered when TATA could not make a reliable 3-4 lakh car (indica), what will be the fate of their 1 lakh car? because quality will be further down.

all sites have their own story to say, as per all it should already been out now, but final words i guess might be from tata itself, when is people's car to get down on roads.

work on nano in gujarat has just started some time back. i think it would take some time before it's available. UK plant should start delivering by 2nd quarter of 2009. Till then lets keep our fingers crossed. :D
