this would be a good scene for indian buyers with both linea and sx4 getting better and powerful engines as surely linea does needs a better engine then its current one, so yes what fiat thinks is perfect of launching their product firstly then giving their engines to other companies for different models to launch.

Linea v/s SX4, both with 1.6l diesel, SX4 will win.

i like the macho type looks of sx4, the only thing i dont like in it is the FE delivered, if its launched in diesel then it will surely be a hot pick

dude anyday it would, there are people who want to buy sx4 but its FE lets it down big time and as craze for diesel grows more around, do you think people needs to think second for sx4 diesel then, no way!And its Maruti.

Before the SX4 Diesel launches, FIAT Linea 1.6 MJD will grab the market attention.
As mentioned in article that FIAT isnt granting permission to MSIL to put the 1.6 in SX4, So the Linea 1.6 will come much before than SX4 MJD.

even then i dont think fiat can grab that much market share and attention then maruti, long way to go, yes may be initial phase surely linea might appeal and should appeal with its superb product but then sooner or later, sx4 diesel anyday would be rocking sales, thats what maruti is missing in their category.

Even after 2-3 months of Linea 1.6, if SX4 1.6 comes, it would just grab all the sales. Who would trust Tata over Maruti for servicing their cars?

exactly, tata can never match the ASS of maruti, unless fiat gets rid of tata and offers ASS through its own centres, it wont be able to give a competition to maruti

I think that the market is evolving and people are slowly realising the stregnth of Fiat cars. I have seen a lot of Lineas on the road, and to be frank, way more than I expected. Its good quality and engineering, and mouth-watering prices have done it good. So even if both the SX4 and the Linea come in 1.6lt MJD guise, it would be a tough competition and many people would put their money down on a Linea, rather than an SX4.

So we can't judge people had started to trust TATA for service(Linea sells because for the wonderful car itself). Still ANHC sells better than Linea. And also Linea has just got a welcome response and let's see how it performs after a year. I believe that MSIL can tune the 1.6 engine better too, backed with good cheaper service and considerably less price too.

absolutely and its maruti so they might comeup with some mouthwatering pricing against linea and the whole market scenario would change towards them, tata has a long way to go against maruti, no doubt linea is a class product and was welcomed by customers across nation, what needs to see is a few years down how long does fiat behave in this market along with Tata ASS.

I think that TATA ASS is only slated to improve with time. Otherwise Maruti might just have an upper hand. People may bypass Linea's product quality in favour of a Maruti. But again, the number of people to do so is gradually falling.

That's not going to happen unless they are changing the entire team. Tata can change the policy, but the service crew's attitude cannot be changed.
