Spyker Plans Indian entry!

Hey guys! :)
Dutch sports car manufacturer Spyker is planning to enter the Indian car market with its new Spyker C8 Aileron sportscar. The completely handcrafted supercar will offer ultimate level of exclusivity and will cost around Rs. 3 crore (including customs duty). The Aileron uses the Audi 4.2 litre V8 giving 400 BHP. The 5-valve 4-cam engine is mated to a 6 speed Getrag manual or a 6 speed automatic ZF gearbox. Initially, Spyker would be happy selling as little as two-three cars a year.
“We would be really stupid and arrogant not to come to look at one of the largest markets in the world,” said Hans Van Rennes, vice- president, Marketing and Communication, Spyker Cars. :winkthumb:

yeah.even i heard of this. finally india is getting a whole lot of internation car manufacturers. if government reduces the tax and duty on import of cars we could see more positive moves from manufacturers.

Yes hummer!and I've heard that even BMW is planning to launch its MINI brand soon here and ferrari too is planning its indian entry, Looks like by 2010-2012 we will see many supercars on our roads! :winkthumb:

but there's no use of such cars unless government of india reduces the import duty. due to high import duty the on road price of such CBU cars increases manifold. in our neighbouring countries like china and russia import duty on new cars is only 25% as compared to 110% in india.

Given the estimated price, if they achieve their target, then it would be a great achievement for them.

Yeah vibhor, the interior looks awesome. I adore it. But with its price, it'll hard to achieve their target of 3 cars a year.

3cr for this car will be costly, had it not been for our super-smart import policies. Still, I think 3 cars a year will be an achievable target. The car is itself a fantabulous one..
