The Model I purchased was the 1.6 GLS with ABS.
And I have not regretted purchasing this car leaving out the likes of Honda City and Ford Ikon.
I shall give you a short but brief report of my car.
Performance
The performance of the 1.6 motor is fantastic.
A responsive steering and a good gearshift are pluses.
The ABS brakes are absolutely fantastic.
The motor is pretty much refined and cabin noise is minimum.
The car is peppy and fun-to-drive.
Handling is good and the car feels very light to drive.
I am still clueless that why did Hyundai discontinue this excellent motor.
Looks and Interiors
Interiors of the Accent are best in class.
The quality is superb.
I did not like the shabby gray color of the interiors.
Front seats are comfy but lack a bit of thigh support.
Rear seats are good, but the seats are obviously too low and getting in and out is a problem.
The controls are easy to use and well damped.
The adjustable steering adds to the convenience.
Driving position is near perfect.
The cabin has had very little wear and tear except for the Steer Wheel.
Legroom is very good.
It looks like a big car and a segment above.
It has very plain, sober and elegant lines.
Rear looks shabby without a spoiler.
Doors shut with a vault like thud.
Huge 500+ liter boot.
Plenty of storage spaces.
No complaints here at all.
Ownership experience has been great as it is a Hyundai.
Resale value is superb.
Pros-
Peppy drive
Responsive steering
High quality interiors
Unmatched refinemnt
Cons-
Shabby gray cabin
Boring looks
Low Seating position [ rear ]
Total Score
9 out of ten.
My verdict- Arguably the best entry level sedan in the country till date.
