But does the engine, when warm, take off when you just leave the clutch? It did so in the Spark.

dcargod wrote:As for the poll, I voted for the Spark because it is more spacious than the Santro, has a very responsive engine( it can take off from 20 in 4th gear ), body control is good, steering is well-weighted, rides well for a small car, immensly easy to drive.

agree with your other points, but the spark is not as spacious as the santro. i am 6'1" tall & i can easily drive a santro. but in the spark, my legs foul with the steering & gear lever. to put the spark in 5th gear, i have to shift my legs!
also, the spark is not as responsive as the santro, according to me.
I'm not sure about the space and legroom. But OD rated Spark to be most comfortable in the cars tested(Nano, 800, Alto, Santro, Spark test in May issue)

Santro definately offeres more space than other cars which are compared here.

Another drawback of the Santro is its ride. Its so harsh that on bad roads it feels much more uncomfortable than it actually is.

We now have 9 votes for Spark, 8 for Santro and none for the Alto.

maybe i am the odd one out here, but i found the spark to be very cramped. also, its front seats very very flat & lacked under thigh support, so i found it least comfortable!
it offers a very good ride though but how can i drive a car when the steerin & gear lever fouls with my leg?!

no raj, not only odd one out, i too say that spark does lack thigh support and are cramped as compared to santro.

I don't like the dashboard of Spark, Especially that "Speedo console" in the centre, It looks odd to me.

even i agree with that. space in santro is more than spark.

me too. i dont like any thing in the looks department of spark.

as for alto. it does not belong to this category. it should not have been in this poll. competition of alto is only with maruti 800 and lowest base models of santro and spark.

Atleast i found the spark's driving position good, only the pedals were too close to each other. Have sat in a santro. its got good height and seat base, but pedal positioning is awkward.

true, the pedals are located very close to each other, sometimes i tend to press both brake and clutch at the same time

@napster, pressing clutch and brake together is ok for braking.

@ dcargod: i feel the clutch should be pressed only when the car is about to stall, you know the limit when you drive the car frequently. pressing the clutch while braking is like putting the car in neutral at high speeds.

    anyways, this was OT.
