Bajaj to soon launch Platina LPG!

Have you heard of a LPG bike? Bajaj Auto plans to launch a LPG version of the Platina. Yes, an LPG powered bike. Bajaj claims 109kms to a liter of petrol for the Platina, so they might claim 100kmpl for the LPG Platina. LPG costs Rs. 25, which means you can travel 4kms in Rs. 1/- But refinement will be a major issue. The bike won’t be easy to ride either.

anyways.. its a good start u know.. refinement is something that the company will have to give sooner or later ie with the competition in the market..

A good start. LPG tank is located neatly. Platina won't return no more than 70kph in real world conditions.

But where is its cylinder placed?
Can you post a pic of it?

Yeah now i think the same too. On close observation, i think it is some equipment, that helps to run on LPG. I think the cylinder should be in petrol tank only. And there should be a small petrol area too, so that it can run on both petrol and LPG.

How can be a big LPG cylinder fit into the petrol tank?
Its fixed on the rear side of the bike, Google it and you might find a pic. :)

I thought Bajaj might have used a compact cylinder to fit in. If it is going to have one at the back, then its usccess is doubtful.

good info vibs, good news in two wheelers market with another fuel options.About its gas tank, mostly would be fitted on its rear sides, in this picture is not shown but most likely is to get there.

That picture is of stock/normal Platina.
