This vehicle sure is a beast! Just looking at it in the flesh gives one a kick!(if ur into Suv's that is).... Those flared out to the max wheel arches are damn chunky & really set this vehicle out from the crowd. The front has a butch & menacing look as if its ready to eat the car in front.... Sides & the rear are a let down though, found them too plane jane. It had a Nice set of Chunky Alloys Wrapped in Beefy BF Goodrich Rubber 265/75R16. They really look purposeful & ready to tackle all types of terrain.
Interiors were a let down though, all plastic & dull grey in colour. Quality of plastics were solid & looked like they would withstand punishment. Nice feature was the Chromed inner door lock handles, nice touch alright. Seat upholstery was dull grey again, seats were again quite a let down, with bare sufficient padding which would not give adequate lumbar & thigh support for long journeys. The steering wheel was nice to get your hands wrapped on with every possible adjustment knob pout on them, radio channel/cd track changes - volume adjustment & also Cruise Control Switch + One can also adjust the amount of acceleration through a switch on the steering wheel itself (WOW - talk about Hands & Legs Free Comfort!)
It had an Eight-speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system with a six-CD/MP3 changer, an auxiliary audio jack, ipod cord was also directly attached to rear end of the HU. I did not much care about its performance, though to be fair only listened to the radio(Did not carry my CD's!) so I could be wrong.....
As for the Drive options, a 5 Speed auto with seperate switch to transfer from 2WD to 4WH & 4WL.... though I don't know how well it can handle sticky conditions since I did not get a chance to try it out. But I think it can handle quite a lot of serious offroading given that it finds itself in such situations(most people buying these type of vehicles never venture off tarmac roads!)
The 4 litre petrol engine has a lot of pulling power, I literally had a jump start ..... engine was silky smooth(typically V6) with lots of power on tap as & when required, barely did 140 which seemed like 90, the view behind the wheel is commanding with the bonnet sprawled out in front of you. Ride was a bit bouncy but then speed breakers & rumblers were taken at speed one would dare not try in cars... any undulation of road surface was taken in its stride with least efforts. I would really love to drive this vehicle for a long trip but would need to take sufficient stops to A) Fuel Up & B) Avoid Getting Tired due to the seats.
Overall, I'd say that if your into adventure & wild life expeditions, then this vehicle is right for you, else a total waste of parking space in crowded metro's.
