    FORMULA ONE

Spanish Grand Prix (Circuit de Catalunya): Jenson Button
(pictured above) and Brawn GP lead the F1 circus on to the first European race of the season. Red Bull are currently leading the chasing pack but will returning to their respective European bases allow the likes of McLaren and Ferrari to catch up and re-assert their authority?

    Coverage on Star Sports:
Saturday, May 9th: Qualifying session, 5:00pm (Live)
Sunday, May 10th: Race, 5:15pm (Live)

    LE MANS SERIES

1000 Km of Spa (Spa-Francorchamps): The second round of the Le Mans Series will be held at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit. At just over 7km long, the circuit has everything a driver could wish for; long flat out straights, fast sweeping turns, a tricky chicane and a tight hairpin as well.

Aston Martin's LMP1 racer made a victorious debut at the opening round in Barcelona. The absence of Audi's much feared, all-new R15 has allowed other teams to get noticed. Audi will be represented, however by the Kolles team. Run by former Force India team principal Colin Kolles, the team will field a pair of R10s.

Headlining the trio of drivers assigned to Kolles' number 14 R10 will be none other than Narain Karthikeyan. After missing the first round of the series, Karthikeyan will be eager to make his mark with a car that is reputed to have nearly twice the torque of an F1 car.

No live coverage but updates and live timing from the three day weekend will be available at the series' official website; www.lemans-series.com. Highlights from the 6 hour race will be aired on various magazine programs on ESPN/Star. Belgium is three hours behind India so the race will be running from 3:50pm to 9:50pm on Sunday, 10th May

    WORLD SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP

WSBK Monza (Monza): Going flat out on Monza's long straights in a car is one thing, but something else on a bike with a power to weight ratio higher than that of an F1 car. Tune in to watch Ducati's experienced Noriyuki Haga defend his championship lead from Yamaha's young charger Ben Spies at Ducati's home turf.

    Coverage on Zee Sports:
Saturday, May 9th: Superpole, 6:30pm (Live)
Sunday, May 10th: Race, 3:00pm (Live)

    GP2 SERIES

GP2 Barcelona (Circuit de Catalunya): Touted as F1's strongest feeder series, the start of the main series will see the debut of the driver widely regarded to be an F1 champion one day. Nico "The Hulk" Hulkenberg will be looking to stamp his authority on GP2. Standing in his way will be former and current GP2 Asia Series champions Romain Grosjean and Kamuyi Kobayashi. As well as the likes of Vitaly Petrov, Lucas Di Grassi, Diego Nunes and India's Karun Chandhok who will be starting his third GP2 season.

    Coverage on Star Sports:
Sunday, May 10th: Sprint and Feature race, 10:00pm (Delayed)

    ASIA PACIFIC RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

Rally Queensland, Australia: The first round of Asia-Pacific's most important rally championship in New Caledonia was a no-show. So the 2009 APRC season kicks off in earnest at Rally Queensland. The championship has gotten a boost with Team MRF confirming its participation for the 2009 season.

Partnering former champ Katsuhiko Taguchi will be India's Gaurav Gill. Gill was victorious in Indonesia last year (pictured below) after holding his nerve during a thrilling three-way fight between himself, Taguchi and three-time APRC champ Cody Crocker. Armed with Mitsubishi's latest Evo X, Gill will be looking for some productive seat time before he heads off to Italy for the Production car World Rally Championship round in Sardinia.

No live coverage but a highlights program will be shown on ESPN/Star. The rally is scheduled to take place from the 9th to 10th of May. The rally is based near Brisbane, which is 4 hours ahead of India. So the die-hard rally freaks will have to start checking for updates on www.aprctv.com from 4:30am on Saturday and 3:30am on Sunday.
