Yamaha R15 Racing championship!

150 Yamaha YZF-R15 owners recently flocked to Chennai’s Irungattukottai
circuit to participate in the inaugural round of this year’s R15 Championship.
Rider Sri Kandaraj clinched victory in the expert class race, while A
Murlidharan and R Kartik won the semi-skilled and beginner class races,
respectively. The next rounds of the championship is scheduled to be held on
July 5, 2009, 13th September, 2009 and 13th December, 2009.
India Yamaha Motor will also be organizing local race events at Noida,
Mumbai, Coimbatore and Bangalore through the year. These ‘Ride Tech Challenges’
will allow Yamaha customers to prove their mettle on purpose-built tracks. Drag
races for Yamaha YZF-R15 owners are planned as well.
Also on the cards is a series of touring events. Through these events, Yamaha
hopes to usher in a culture of weekend getaways among riders.

I heard about these things from the local dealer.

I've a strange doubt, as far as i know vehicles involved in any kinds of racing voids the warranty. These events are organised by Yamaha itself, so will it void the warranty?

Last race that was organized in Greater Noida was not worth it.. have you guys ever heard of a U-turn on a road full of stones in a 400 meters Drag?

And they weren't even providing repair facilities for the rides that had some problem there..

Okay, but then the wear and tear of the would be high right?

well yeah... the wear and tear would be high... but hey R15 is a Race Track bike... its supposed to be ridden dat way.. :)

Yamaha Holds Racing Ride Tech Challange!

Yamaha India brought out another round of Racing Ride Tech Challenge exclusively for its customers on the 21st June, 2009, where Yamaha bike owners zoomed on the tracks of India Expo Mart, Greater Noida Expressway. This initiative by Yamaha has drawn a platform for all the potential users to show off their spectacular steeds.

As a part of our Brand image we want to promote local club level races like Racing Ride Tech. Yamaha’s corporate culture has always given a special importance to bike racing in India as well as way of expressing the ‘spirit of challenge’ that it values so highly. The R15 Championship is also one of the biggest initiatives by Yamaha to take racing culture to new heights in India as also to keep the biking enthusiasts’ adrenaline pumping. The Racing Ride Tech Challenge proved to be very successful in their aim of inculcating the rider’s spirit as well promote safe biking culture in the country along with the zooming experience of the extensive array of bikes they have.
