Hello friends, this is Rajeev from mumbai. I am a part of Team MHSSC racing which comprises of 20 students. We are the final year (passed out) students of the MHSS college, byculla.
This intention of this thread is to share our experience in the making of our own Formula type sports car for the FSAE event. This is an international event for engineering students where the teams are expected to design, build & race their own racecar. here, we will share some pics & experiences during the making of our FSAE car named "KARMA".
Since this is out first attempt in such an event, our design objective was- "simplicity & reliability". Keep the design of the car so simple that chances of failure are minimal.
First some specs:
1) 250 cc 4 cylinder engine from Yamaha fazer
2) Disc brakes from TVS apache RTR
3) Custom built steering rack
4) Shock absorbers from TVS Apache RTR (soon to be modified to our requirements)
5) Tyres from Yokohoma
6) Brake master cylinder from tavera
Work under process:
1) Electronic gearshift with LED gear indicator on steering wheel
Time for some pics:
# Initial Fabrications days:
# The donor bike:
# The bike stripped off the engine:
# Designing under process:
# The frame was fabricated in two days!
# Double seat allowed?
# Aluminium block for the uprights:
# CNC machining:
# Uprights after machining:
# Body work under progress:
# this is how our car may look (Painting work pending):
