My choice is the Toyota Corolla Altis. But the Honda City is winning and has taken a big lead over everyone else.Maybe it emerges as the champ.

ANHC, it does everything good, except for the high price. A-star has some scope too.

Its a pleasent surprise that "Johhny Come Lately" Fiat Linea is the winner.Hope it will be a cool buy for customers sans the Fiat gremlins that the company is attached with in India.

Last night the ICICI BANK CNBC TV18 OVERDRIVE AWARDS were held in Mumbai.The results are quite what i expected,very similar to the AUTOCAR AWARDS,but the car of the year has shocked me it is the SKODA FABIA :shock: well here are all the awards-

And its shocking for me too on selecting Fabia as car of the year, If i am not wrong Fabia has been in India since 2008 Jan right?

Yeah fabia was launched at the auto expo last year.........i don't think it deserved the award!

Skoda India attained growth of 28 per cent in 2008


Skoda India has attained a growth of 28.5% by selling 16188 units in 2008 compared to 12596 units in 2007.

Although there was a big fall down in the automobile field in the year 2008, Skoda India improved its existence and gained growth by the release of its Super Hatch Fabia, said Thomas Kuehl, the board member of Skoda India.

From the release of super hatch Fabia in January 2008 Skoda India has sold 6634 units.

The present models are going well with the customers and we are getting good feedback. Further, we are coming with novel products in the New Year that help us to move up the ladder, he said.

Skoda India has its unit in Aurangabad, Maharashtra and it is an ancillary of Czech Republic- based Skoda Auto.

The company stepped into India in November 2001 and has sold over 65900 units as of now. With 60 dealerships, the company sells 19 models.


Hope we all guys understood why Fabia is OverDrive's COTY 2009 !!
