MSIL Launches Swift Glam

Hey guys, I just saw this in today's newspaper, the MSIL has launched a new limited edition of the Swift called the Swift Glam. This is a VERY LIMITED EDITION as quoted by MSIL and has a dual tone interior with beige dash and upholstery, it has wheel caps of a new design, a rear parcel tray and color coded ORVM's in addition to the regular features.
It has two new colors namely Arctic White and Goldsmith Black.
No info on the prices yet.

My take on this- Looks like MSIL has launched the LE to somehow reduce the beatings the Swift has taken from the Ritz.
But I think it's high time we had a facelift.

hmm..but why still wheel caps man? LE deserves alloys. but all over there isnt something really limited about this edition. minor changes. and IMO black interiors suit the swift's sporty character.
and you are right sparsh. this may be to keep the swift running along side ritz and also to clear the swift stocks. perhaps a facelift is coming soon.

This is just to ensure than buyers don't lose interest in Swift. Let's see how the beige two tone dash comes out, as black suits Swift well. Parcel tray is a welcome addition.

when i read the title, i expected something more, like some sporty headlights & taillights, new alloys, etc. at a price hike of around 70,000! yes, i forgot its a maruti. they just change the seat covers & claim to be "All New Car"!

exactly Raj, even i was thinking more then this from LE model from maruti but then its always maruti .

I too was expecting a lot more like body graphics, electric mirrors, etc. Parcel tray, audio system is already present in the car, so why did maruti highlight those?

The word "Glam" in this LE swift means "Glamour", But I can't find anything "Glamourous" in this LE Swift "Glam".
However, I liked those wheelcaps on this version, Looks pretty much like alloys to me(But still why no real alloys? ), I would like to see how does the beige interiors will look in swift.

These days, MSIL is introducing useless and "So-called" Limited Editions, First the Zen Estilo Sport with no frills, and now this Swift "Glam"!

By the Way, Members please note that this "Glamourous Swift"is available only in Petrol version.
Beige lovers, You will still get those dark interiors if you are opting for diesel.

whats the use in opting for the LE swift glam? no change in the engine nor the exteriors so no use, forget about other options, no alloy wheels on the first note

The basic purpose of these "Special/ Limited Editions" was that these car will be produced in limited number and limited periodof time and will be very much different from their regular counterparts, But thesedays, The meaning of this term has been totally changed, Put some sticker here and there, some stupid badging, new interiors etc and ta-da, The Limited Edition is ready!

Well thats why its called 'Limited' given the few tweaks It should be called 'Scam' instead

But the features given in the 'glam' edition are already present in the car. I did not get the use of introducing such useless limited editions. Swift ZXi has everything save the beige interiors. So whats the point?

I don't think they are doing so. This Glam doesn't even has alloy(redesigned caps) and no mention about Airbags or ABS.

this might be to lure customers to opt for petrol swifts which are not selling like diesel swifts, and those long stocks lying down, this also might to clear them too.
Same old tactics from auto companies.

The Swift Glam is available in VXi and ZXi trims, so LXi buyers, don't get excited.

LOL, what a joke! I can understand if they make some good performance changes with the engines!

but dont expect that thing to comeup with maruti buddy, atleast not coming lately.lol

I guess that clears the fact.
Maruti is doing it as they are unable to sell the vxi and the zxi variants.

The diesel is taking up all the sales it seems.

Let me add about the pricing of this "Glamourous" Swift.
Its approx. Rs.20k bucks more than the regular petrol(VXi) Version.
