Renault Sandero Stepway coming!!

The Sandero Stepway – that recently launched in South America – could soon be en route to India. The Stepway is an all new, beefed-up version of the Sandero hatch (which shares the Logan platform). The car sports customary plastic cladding around the wheel arches which merge into the lower part of the bumpers, with beefy-looking running boards along its flanks.

The Stepway is styled to look like a mini-SUV, but the truth is, this car is a regular hatch in all but its appearance. Under the skin the car houses the same 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine as we’re accustomed to in the Logan. Still, the greater ground clearance should be more than welcome given our road conditions. Mahindra & Mahindra’s Nashik plant looks the most likely location for the Stepway to be built.

Even with dashing graphics and spruced-up interiors, the Stepway is expected to start well below the Rs 5-lakh mark. On its arrival, the Stepway will definitely make for an interesting addition to Renault’s line-up in India.

This Mini MUV, Stepway looks very nice and sporty but let the Sandero come to India first.
Seems like Renault will come up with a great range of cars in coming future.

Stepway looks good. But Renault should do something to win back customer's attention. Logan's sales is falling and quality of service by Mahindra is not upto to the mark. And rumours of Mahindra-Renault parting ways is also a let down.

I think Renault should go independent now. They have established their presence, and now its time, Renault takes its own steps.

Stepway looks great, It can be successful if priced right. It has a solid feel which indian would prefer.

Wow! It doesn't even look like a hatch with claddings, i guess high clearance is the reason. It looks big or what they call as mini-SUV.

Sandero Stepway is a combination of hatch and SUV looks, so it can satisfy a wide variety of customers. A powerful engine should also be given in diesel form, though common sense says that it will have that dull 1.5lt dCI engine from Logan, and it may also not be tuned up to be more powerful. Lets also wait and see how it is priced.

The 1.5 DCI engine that does duty in Logan comes in different state of tune, i think it comes in 85BHP and 110BHP too.

This should be good.
I myself am planning to buy a SUV next year.
Hope it is good in comparison to the Fortuner which is the top contender in my list.

Fortuner? This Sandero stepaway is just a hatchback based on Logan platform with high ground clearance and some body claddings to give a mini SUV look.

looks good to me. can be a competitor for skoda yeti.

IMO, it should be priced around 8 lakh, whereas Fortunar will be around 20 lakh.

Don't get confused with this car to be a SUV.
Its a small SUV crossover hatchback, Its looks are very impressive.

People would rather buy a normal sedan/suv like safari than buy this for the price and the badge.

this looks nice, a bit similar to the looks of captiva though, this will do well if priced properly

It's only a beefed up version of the Sandero, with SUV like stance height and GC.

Yes, good pricing will attract a lot of buyers, I believe.

firstly it needs a good attractive pricing as well as better power engine to compete in market, this is just more cladding along with better GC , lets see how does this one perform in market.

As said by sparsh, Its actually a revamped version of Sandero with SUV stance, It could be a good alternative to sandero. Renault must consider to bring it in India very soon as the competition in hatchback segment is getting tougher day by day.
