Well, its always good to try something new. The door handles look pretty interesting to me, innovative too. It will be interesting to see how it competes with the Ritz, which has currently jumper into the sales charts out-selling the Swift by a narrow margin.

yeah DC, this would be intresting to see as well as what we see here is the confidence GM is pouring in our market as well as in their products which does make buyers believe in GM cars and go and buy them.
Too many swifts on road gave ritz chance to be ahead of being something new design and different from swift.IMO.

this would only be known once we get to see it in real, hope it would be else company wouldnt get it done which would also cost more then regular ones.

the new spark looks better. the door concept is nice

The handle positioning is really unique!
Nice to see car makers coming with more innovate ideas, but how practical are they?
Only time will tell.

Funky colors are required for this funky looking car. I am tired of the dull silver and golden colors that dominate our market today. Plus the door handles will offer a unique style statement.

so then if to believe ACI for this news people would see two sparks running along the roads one of older gen classic to be named and this one new as spark itself, lets see some sparking now

I read this, But again as I said in another thread that carmakers don't completely discontinue their old models, Now it looks like Chevy has joined that group too.

There's no need to discontinue Spark, as it still looks fresh and now its sales are increasing in decent numbers.

But after the launch of beat a.k.a new spark, There will be a point of time when its sales will start going down in the graph because more people would prefer new model, That is Beat. (But only if its priced competitvely)
This is the same case which happened with Hyundai 's Santro & its new "avatar" The i10 and as a result, Now we see the i10 on 3rd position and Santro on 9th postion on the sales chart.

yes and similar thing happened with the maruti 800 also. alto took the 800's place on the sales charts.

well thats how indian hatchback market works, so did GM, even if new spark takes over still older spark would sell just like wagonR, santro's are doing, also this might be with newer engine and different CC, so might sell and now with other fuel option in current spark would always be selling along with new interiors.

I think Spark will be given the 800cc engine and the price will be reduced to match the Alto, and the Beat will give competition to the Ritz and all other such hatchbacks and small cars like the Santro, WagonR etc. It will be priced akin to the A-Star.

Beat should be priced at par with A-star to sell in some real good numbers.

I too think Spark would be stripped down with 800cc engine.

more chances are that current spark would sell with its lpg fuel options and new 800 cc to compete with alto market share, new beat might come up with 1100 or 1200cc engine to compete with ritz market.

Exactly.
I too have same thoughts that they would be reducing the spark's price with 800cc engine and place the beat in the position where spark is currently serving.

Spark doesn't exactly serve Beat's position. With its pricing and multiple variants, it tries to oust the Alto category as well as the WagonR, Santro category. As far as the A-Star pricing is concerned, it is a little more premium over the Santro, WagonR category. I think Beat will try to match this A-Star, i10 category, and will also try and give the Swift, Getz some competition. Expect top model of Beat to slightly undercut the base model of the U-VA.

yes even i think new spark will be competing against i10, ritz.
off topic: i honestly think A-star is overpriced.
