Bullet 500 Classic Launched

A great bike the 500 cc Bullet Classic has been launched today 15th
May 2009, at a function in Gurgaon. The bike has a retro design and
looks awesome. The 499 cc engine develops 20.3 kw (27.2 bhp) @
5850rpm.It has a splendid 41.3 Nm torque @4000rpm.It boasts of an
electric start, has digital electronic ignition and most of all come
with the modern electronic fuel injection. The compression ratio is
8.5:1. The engine is though the old OHV, 4 stroke, air cooled with
spark ignition. It has disc brake on the front and drum on the rear.

WoW! It looks very cool. But they should done some changes to engine, like twinspark,etc.. Its figures are impressive. Tyres are far better than other REs. But still it lacks a tachometer. How much does this one cost?

Its looks are very macho and impressive too!

Thanks friends. CC the tachometer is really missed and RE may say that its a Classic. But a tachometer is quite essential these days, as many bikers are used to having it. RoadRocket I have no much idea about the pricing but it should be anywhere near the Rs 1L mark.

I believe 1lac is a pretty nice value for it.

I was told this model is just for the Export market and would be sold here only after 2010, the regular 500cc costs about 1.20lakhs onroad Mumbai this shud be in the 1.50lakh range if this is the EFI model.

As per Royal Enfield the Classic 500 also known as the EFI500 is just ment for Exports also have posted the link to the Royal Enfield website and the Classic is not seen there.

Anjan / madhokritesh is that pricing confirmed ? What I heard was that this will be the top end model in RE range. That means this need to be placed above the new Machismo 500, right?

Yes, this would be above Machismo 500.. also you planning to buy the Classic in India or Denmark? And as far as I know this bike is only for export and is currently not available in India (but you they are planning to get it into the market by 2010)

I am planning to get it in India only (I am expected to be back by 2010). Hope by that time it will be available in our market too.

You know some thing interesting, I have seen people using bullet here in DK and they still think that its a British bike! They feel like the production is just got 'offshored' But all the users are really crazy about this beast and I have always surprised to see the individual customizations done. Unfortunately I don't have any pic to post here. But I will try to get it for sure.
