If you were an eco-car manufacturer, what would you do on a day that’s set
aside for the environment? Release a special edition with stickers and tints
that pollutes no less, use it as an advertising occasion and pose with models in
a green outfit, speak about renewable sources of energy and waste everyone’s
    time?
Doing none of that is the World’s biggest maker of electric cars, REVA
Electric Car Company, who has come out with a novel idea to raise awareness
    among public.
REVA has commenced a three day ‘Spot the Green Car’ contest on its place of
origin, Bangalore yesterday April 21 and will end on the World Earth Day on
    Wednesday, April 22, 2009.
Five REVA cars (G-wiz to our foreign readers) will make trips around
Bangalore city adopting paths that will comprise the most popular places of
interests for the public and sightseers. Each of those cars carry a letter from
the word EARTH. Additionally the cars also carry a SMS number which people have
to text the word ‘REVA EARTH’ to and enter a contest whose winners will be
    announced on Earth Day.
Not only that, the five cars roaming the city will hand out information on
“10 Ways to Go Green” and distribe 300 potted seeds. REVA encourages Bangalore
residents to plant and grow saplings and take an active role in lending a
    helping hand to the environment.

This is a great initiative by Maini. Hope they reduce the price of Reva in order to save the earth by more sales of it ;)

yes i agree. if reva prices are reduced it will be a very good option. even with current price i see many reva's here in ahmedabad. if the price is reduced they will sell even more.

Nope, I don't think so that now even a reduced price will work because it can accomodate only 2 person and believe me its rear legroom is just of four inches big!
Nowdays consumers expect a typical family car at low price which i hope Maini will offer with the launch of the new reva. :)

good move by company, atleast better for our environment and also guys company is working on its new model which would be more spacious and better powered to its current model, but yes the main reason didnt do well was its way too high pricing.

i agree vibhor that it is low on space. but people in india are still willing to pay lower cost of traveling. also in ahmedabad i have seen many revas and most of them driven by ladies to take their kids around.and i think this is a very good alternative to ladies drivin scooters which is very unsafe. specially with small kids.

If it is priced any where between 2.5-3 lakhs, many would have gone for it. For those who drive in city with no need for rear seat space or a couple with kid will buy it and also can be used as a second car.
