Porsche Panamera now in India!

Precision Cars India, the official Porsche importer for India, today revealed the price of the Panamera, the car will be unveiled at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show 2009. The entry-level Panamera S is powered by a 4.8-litre V8 developing maximum output of 400bhp. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels as an option by Porsche’s seven-speed Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) or double-clutch gearbox. Acceleration to 100km/h comes in 5.4 seconds, top speed is 283km/h.
The dynamic Panamera 4S features a 4.8-litre V8 developing 400 bhp (294 kW) maximum output, with engine power conveyed to all four wheels via Porsche’s seven-speed PDK Doppelkupplungsgetriebe. In this case acceleration to 100km/h comes in 5.0 seconds, top speed is 282km/h. Ranking right at the top, the Panamera Turbo features a 4.8-litre V8 biturbo developing maximum output of 500bhp with power transmitted again by Porsche’s seven-gear Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK).

Thats because we are not used see 4 door porsches.. Even I am not able to digest looks of Panamera..

Personally i liked the Lambo 4 door more than the panamera.

Yeah, Same with me too abhinav, I would also prefer 4 door lamborghini Estoque over panamera anyday, I think Ferrari or some other supercar brand is also planning to design a 4 door super sports car. :bball:

How much is it priced at?

Anyways, to my opinion, 4 door sports cars might not have good demand because cars like the BMW X6 offer more comfort, while keeping driving pleasure intact, though it may not be the best of lookers..!!

Yea archit, estoque and rapide looks cool and rapide is my personal choice.

Porsche Plans to sell 50 Panameras in India!

Porsche plans to sell 50 units of the Panamera in India this year. The Porsche Panamera will be launched by 3rd October. The Panamera’s price will range from Rs 1.4 crore to Rs. 2 crore. Porsche has already secured 13 bookings of the 4 door sports sedan. Porsche has sold around 650 cars since its entry into India three years ago. However, 65% of the sales came from the Porsche Cayenne.
Porsche had set up a new plant in Germany exclusively to manufacture about 20,000 units of the Panamera. Total production at its German plant has declined from 98,000 units (in 2008) to 80,000 units this year due to the recession. Indian operations contribute only a meagre percentage of global sales while the US, Europe, China and the Middle East are the ‘big’ markets, he said. Mumbai was the biggest market for the company, with 60% of sales coming from there, followed by Delhi with 30%, while the remaining 10% came from the rest of the country.
