Porsche Cayenne diesel launched in India!

Precision Cars India, the official Porsche importer for India, has secured a limited number of Porsche Cayenne Diesel for the Indian market. Cayenne Diesel is the first diesel car from the Porsche stable, launched recently at the Geneva Motor Show 2009. The base price for the new Cayenne Diesel is INR 64,95,000 inclusive of the import duties and taxes. As with any Porsche model, annual production is limited and only 19 cars will be coming to India in 2009.

“The Cayenne Diesel is intended primarily for the European market but we saw a tremendous demand for the car from all over India,” Mr. Rod Wallace, Managing Director - Precision Cars India, said.

From outside, the new model comes with the same looks and appearance as the Cayenne with its V6 gasoline engine. Displacing 3 litres, the extra-smooth and refined V6 power unit develops maximum output of 240bhp, sufficient for a top speed of 214 km/h with a torque of 550Nm at 2,000 rpm.

It will be a great car without a doubt.
Porsce already is selling good amount of cayenne but the q7 and touareg had advantage of a deisel engine.

Porsche have made the right move and should definitely pose a great competition to q7 and touareg
