i agree with you on the folowing points:

1) this blue is better than silver: infact i loved it when it was launched.

2) scorpio is a reliable car: not many agree to this. but even i have a 2003 silver scorpio GLX which has run 1.7 lakh kms & no major issues till now. build quality is fantastic & engine is going strong. every time i fire the non-crde motor, it says "i am ready for another 1.5 lakh kms!".

3) maintainence is sometimes expensive: i agree there too. nothing major happens but all the minor things makes my wallet empty!

even you have a booked another scorpio. a repeat customer says a lot about any brand. it indiactes how well the vehicle has served its purpose. i repeated my choice twice! bought a non-CRDe GLX in 2003, then a CRDe SLX in 2006, then the mHAWK VLX in 2008.

vaibhavraj thats a fine example- well maintained and with a neat bodyline.The Scorp did not have roof rails but had the black cladding.

Yeah Scorpio is a reliable car compared with Safari, Tavera, Sumo, etc.. but second to Innova. Mahindra's engine were always strong. Tatas can't stand against it, though the 3.0Dicor Safari can match, but only engine, not other things. I'd say the best of all Indian made cars, leaving Maruti Suzuki aside. Wish it had lesser service bills.

@ CC: the 3.0 engine... what are you saying buddy? its the worst engine on the safari yet! even tata realized that & they offered the older 2.0 engine as option on the newer safaris, then the 2.2 engine was launched. the 3.0 had the engine from the tata 407 tempo (sumo spacio) & delphi's common rail added to it. it has a very narrow powerband (1500 rpm to 2500 rpm!) & its redline was at 3000 rpm! it sounded horrible & was very unrefined for a 10 lakh SUV. if it was a good engine, as you mentioned, why would tata phase it out? second reason was to meet pollution norms. how can a tempo engine meet stringent pollution norms for passenger cars? the 2.2 dicor engine in safari is way better.

I'm talking about the durability. 3lac kms would be like a walk in the park for that engine, but not for the body and other mechanicals. I even think that it'll be more durable than even the current 2.2l.

The blue color was also one of my favorites. Its not as boring as silver shades which are too common nowadays. The Scorpio looks very well maintained and shows the love for your car. But I thought the old engine had lots of turbo lag. Still was it that easy to drive, atleast in the city?

@dcargod: Akash, thanks , ya i really love the car and i am a big fan of scorpio. my scorpio has done 1.51 lakh km and still going strong. i am very particular about the maintanance and service of the car. engine feels refined though a bit noisy now but still has great pickup there is turbo lag though but i love this turbocharged engine.
this is atlantic blue colour though not as popular as silver and grey these days but looks great to me , whenever i saw some new scorpio in these shades i found this colour better, that is what i feel.

yes i am a big fan of scorpio and a proud owner too, its a great car , oh sorry JEEP.. I will be getting the delivery of my new Scorpio on monday, new vlx model scorpio . till then here is another pic -

you dont need to specify how big a fan you are, you buying a scorpio again answers everything!

thanks a lot vijay, bharat & CC. the mHawk kas completed 20,000 kms & Crde has done around 1.2 lakh kms.

thanka a lot vaibhav. the same is to be said about your scorpio too.

Test drove the Scorpio mHAWK VlX, and all I can say is that it was a charm driving it, the car handled much like a small car, the car despite its size had great brakes, also it felt very light on the U-turn, but it does have a little body roll, other then that the car cannot ever disappoint anyone. Am a Scorpio fan since day 1, and always will be one.
