Linea 1.9 Petrol and 1.6 Multijet expected by year end

Diesel will be 105 or 120 BHP and Petrol is expected to be 132bhp.

Both the 1.9 Petrol and 1.6 MJD versions will face disadvantage of excess Rs.15000/- like SX4. The car with Engine Capacity 1501 CC to 1999 CC will have to pay excess Rs.15000/- because these engines are thought (by Indian Government) to be gas guzzlers.
No additional charges for Engines below 1500 CC.
Rs.15000/- additional charges on On-Road prices for Engines 1501 CC to 1999 CC.
Rs.20000/- additional charges on On-Road prices for Engines above 2000CC.

New Honda City was saved because it has 1500 CC Engine.

But the Octavia TDi despite being Fuel Efficient has to bear the impact of the Rs.15000/- on its sticker price.

On the cards is a 1.6-litre Multijet diesel producing 118bhp and 30.6kgm of torque and a 1.6-litre petrol that produces 106bhp and 14.7kgm of torque. Both engines could be on sale in India by the end of the year, and a small premium over existing prices can be expected.

Small premium? Then that will be great news for Linea fans :D . More power without affecting VFM factor will make Linea hit on the sales charts.

not the premium buddy infact if the adviced tax is taken off then there would be price cut of that extra tax paid on vehicles above 1500cc diesel and 2000cc petrol.
