Fiat Linea Price Increase

Just saw on the Fiat website that they have increased the price of the Linea by Rs. 8,000 - Rs. 15,000!

Considering that they launched it only 3 months ago that's quite a quick price revision!

oh!Thats not a good move by FIAT!
As you said that its just 3 months of Linea's launch and they have increased it price!
Even M&M has also increased Xylo's price a bit, All the carmakers play same trick, they introduce new cars at cheap rates and slowly increase their prices and am sure same is going to happen with Tata Nano too! :x

This is a trick played by all manufacturers. They introduce a car at a price, say them as Introductory price. :frustration:

Even Hyundai and Honda have increased the prices of their cars.
The recent hike in Dollar prices is the stated reason by Honda for the increase in the prices.

This is common trend now a days.
Tata Motors has declared before launch of Nano itself that only 1 lakh cars will be available at factory cost of 1 Lakh rupees for entry level model.

Its not even 1 lakh in metros where BS3 compliance is required.

By the year end or so, nano base will cost around 2lacs!

But still a good move.
Maruti has phased the 800 out and even if Tata increases the price, the customers would still prefer it over the Alto.
Also i think the base model would not cost 2 lakhs but it will be the top variant which would be at 2 lakh?

They haven't phased out 800 yet!
It will be discontinued by 2010.

also few time back ford did the same with its ikon, increasing its price on both petrol and diesel models.Seems common practice from manufacturers, what do we expect Nano to increase by this year end or may be after its first batch launched.

This is great news. Finally Fiat has hit the sweet spot.

Another fact is that I donot think the price increase will effect much because it hardly increases a little of our EMIs as maximum people finance the car..!!

yeah this is not huge increase, but the thing is that its common practise from manufacturer to raise prices of their success models once it gets launched and applaud in market, increase is increase,nomatter what the amount is,even 10K is not small amount.Yes doesnt affect your EMI much dcargod but still its increase and thats what the debate is all about.
