All new Skoda Superb Launched;Now Diesel &V6 too

yes CC, company has taken this issue seriously and are looking forward to get this costs down marginally in this year and then coming years, as their import costs and quality supplied are expensive.

SKODA SUPERB DIESEL COMING SOON!


As reported earlier, Skoda India is ready to launch a diesel version of its New Superb later this year, followed by the new Laura. There still is dearth of information about the Superb Diesel, but the company has confirmed that it would be rolled out from its Chakan plant in Aurangabad, Maharshtra, with other upcoming models like upgaded Octavia, Crossover Yeti, Roomster MPV and Fabia estate.
Skoda, which claimed that the 1.8 litre-TSI engine, a turbo petrol in the Superb whose fuel economy is almost on par with any highly efficient diesel engine, now says that its New diesel engine (2 litre-TDI diesel engine) will be the most fuel efficient engine in its class. Soon, a 3.2 litre V6 260 HP petrol engine is also likely to be on offer.
So far, Skoda India has managed to sell 300 units of the new petrol-driven Superb, which costs Rs. 18.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company expects to sell more than 1,000 units of the Superb by year end.

skoda india still lacks on ASS department where their dealers are way too pathetic, there are lots of owners i know personally who keep on complaining regarding this and still the company doesnt do anything regardless of complains to them.

Following the launch of all new Skoda Superb with 1.8L version in last month, Skoda today launched all New Superb in Diesel & V6 4×4 Petrol versions in India. The Skoda Superb Diesel 2.0TDI PD is geared with an automatic 6-speed, DSG, with manual Tiptronic gear changing. The 2.0 litre engine equipped with the Pumpe Düse (PD) technology has an inbuilt turbocharger with a high pressure direct injection system. The success of this engine can be attributed to the fact that it posses a lethal combination of power and fuel efficiency perfectly suited for Indian terrain. It is equipped with a DSG gearbox as a standard and delivers power to the road via a fourth-generation Haldex clutch variable four-wheel drive system.

The pricing is on the higher side considering they priced the 1.8TSi very well.

The v6 should be a scorcher on the road. The Petrol engines from VAG group have been really excellent and this should be another one ( Barring engines like the 1.2 petrol and 1.4 petrol in fabia and 1.6 petrol in jetta)

Unbeatable engines are available in new Superb. It can give some competition to even German Trio i.e. Audi A4, BMW 3-series and Merc C-Class. The engine choices, the features offerred are much similar to the trio and more at considerably less price. I don't see any sale of Passat henceforth. Thats the problem with VW in India. Skoda which is considered as cheaper alternative to Volkwagen enjoys better Brand Image in India. Thanks to its value for money strategy and no compromise in quality.

Untill and Unless Skoda inproves its Dealer network and after sales service, They cant think of taking on the competition like Honda Accord etc

Though the superb V6 is an extremely capable car, All the features for its price, Which the Honda Accord does not have. I so Want to Buy a Superb now but the Skoda badge is pulling me down.

I recently tested a 1.8TSI Skoda Superb extensively recently, thanks to somebody and its one hell of a car. All the Leg room you want, Plus the 1.8 Motor performs well with the DSG Gearbox. Everything is great about the car.

Yes Archit, there are quite a few luxury sedans which are avilable with 4x4 like Audi A4 3.2 Quattro, Audi A6 Quattro, Audi A8, etc. 4wd helps in better traction, better handling and also better grip compared to RWD or FWD. Those are not meant for off-roading but for better on-road performance.

Actually quattro is itself a AWD tec. devloped by Audi. :)

Skoda has truly outdone itself with the new Superb. The most impressive bits are the petrol engines and the 2.0lt diesel engines, though the refinement of the diesel Pumpe Deuse motor is yet to be seen. And the other impressive part is the space and interior quality. It can give the Merc C-class a run for its money. Plus other VW-Skoda strengths like good suspension and build quality remain. All that Skoda needs to do now is improve the aftersales service. I am sure the Accord's days will gradually come to an end.

the new superb looks much better than the older one but i dont think its as long as the older one?

The TDi PD diesel is nothing in front of it's sibling the Passat, which carries a CRDi engine.
