Re: [solved] Head Unit?
My uncles has a JVC double din unit. It was very impressive. He got back 2 months, I don't know the model number(the model was just released then), it had the LCD for the entire size. It was really impressive and good to view movies. He'll always go for a product only if it is VFM. So it should be cheaper too.

Re: [solved] Head Unit?
I actually watched a movie few months back. It was impressive, both video and audio. I listened to radio for a few minutes, it was good too. But I didnot listen or check how it will perform at high volumes.
He has Infinity speakers at rear. At front speakers only, not components but don't know the brand. No amp installed.

Re: [solved] Head Unit?
Have you decided on it yet.
If not , give the Pioneer 6050UB double din a try.
Have heard good reviews about it.

Re: [solved] Head Unit?
hi abhinav, i have decided, but sadly due to shortage of funds, i will go for a single din player which has a good power output, mostly the pio 6050 or 4050. the remaining amount, i would invest in buying a new set of front speakers (JBL or infinity compos) & also add an additional amp to the existing system.

Re: [solved] Head Unit?
Good option Raj.
If you want sound quality, it would be always more in single dins than double dins at comparable prices.
Go for Infinity Comps as they are better than JBL ones.
The JBL ones are a bit too bright and do not portray the proper sound when compared to the infinity. Though very good value for money the infinity is a better choice.
For an amp get a 4 channel instead of a 2 channel as this would allow you to add subs / rears :)

Re: [solved] Head Unit?
finally, i am going to change the HU of my car within 2 days!
i have fixed my budget as Rs 10,000... only!
my HU requirements:
1) USB port
2) good power O/P
3) 3 pre-outs (i can adjust with 2, if budget is a problem!)
earlier i thought that i will spend around 9000 on a pioneer HU. but now i was wondering, if i sell my current HU & front speakers (1000+1000), that ups my budget to 12,000! is it possible to get a pioneer HU for 6000 & JBL front speakers or compos for 6000?

Re: [solved] Head Unit?
Raj, everything is possible! JBL fr comps model: 608C - 61/2 " will cost u 4k max & as for HU, u will have quite a choice in the pioneers, which should fit perfectly in your budget. BTW, what is your current HU & fr speaker set-up? Also, where in mumbai are you located?

I have installed the 608 C as my front speakers in the xylo & am very much impressed with them. Thats why I am recommending them to anyone who likes to enjoy music in their vehicles. Value for money too!
