    By the specs Veyron's top speed is more by 7 kph. but i couls see a vote for CCXR, guess its you. Why?

    thats because... it says >250 or >400... recent tests have taken it to 418km/h

    Hi Guys,

    None of these is the World's Fastest Production car it is the

    SSC Ultimate Aero TT

    With a top speed of 412.28Kph (256.18 Mph). The SSC Ultimate Aero an American-built mid-engine sports car by Shelby SuperCars. SSC stands for Shelby SuperCars and TT stands for Twin Turbo. Its higher-performance limited production version, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT. The SSC Ultimate Aero TT is a much cheaper car as compared to a Veyron and the engine is a lot smaller as well. It has the Twin Turbo charged V8 Chevrolet LS series 6.35L engine producing 882 KW of power. Not only that it is much lighter than the Veyron, the SSC weighs a mere 1200Kg where as the Bugatti is a whopping 1888Kg car. Still the Bugatti remains the fastest car to get to 60Mph(100Kph) in an amazing 2.46 seconds.

    It used to be the Bugatti Veyron till October 9, 2007, which is way before this thread was started. The Veyron recorded the top speed of 408.47Kph on April 19 2005 and before this it was the McLaren F1 which recorded a top speed of 386.4Kph back in 1994.

    Veyron was not the first Bugatti to hold the world record for fastest car. The Bugatti EB110 SS did it in 1992 recording a top speed of 346Kph which was then broken by the Jaguar XJ2200 in 1993 clocking at 349.2Kph.

    fly_hard is right SSC Ultimate Aero TT is indeed the fastest car officially.

    Thanks for confirming Hummer_freak... It sure is a damn fast car, the people from the SSC Ultimate Areo actually expect that it can go up to 436kph. They have tested it in the Wind Tunnels and if they say that if they can find a stretch of road that is long enough they might even prove it.

    The CCXR has never been the fastest car, it's the CCX which is the fastest Koenigsegg. Koenigsegg claims that it has a top speed of 259 mph (417 km/h) but still not officially confirmed.

    CCXR is just an environmental friendly version of the CCX, which can run on BioFuel..

    I tried to find those details but failed. Wikipedia says that Koenigsegg has claimed a topspeed of 417kph, but is not verified officially.

    In 0-100 runs, CCXR(2.9 secs) is faster than CCX(3.2 secs). The environment friendly version is faster.

    SSC Ultimate Aero TT is indeed todays fastest car

    but if u see the topic... it does not mention FASTEST CARS IN THE WORLD

    it mentions faster than veyron...

    and the 2 cars compared here are around 1000 BHP

    dont think the SSC Ultimate Aero TT is 1000BHP
