Re: turbo charged m800
It can do more. but the gearing doesnt let it. the best thing with a 800 is its simplicity. u dont need much power to hv fun. wheelspins in 2nd are usual. but the suspension doesnt take it. highway runs at these speeds are very dangerous, even with upsized tyres. but for those few moments, it the feeling. AMAZING
Power boost isnt that good, but the fun factor surely is.
P.S
i also have an 800 with a G13a.

Looks like ur planning to do it.napster wrote:how much did it cost for turbo charging your 800?
regarding the costs break up..
my maternal uncle in Japan provided me with all the details, turbo, intercooler and the ECU. The piping was bought locally.[some were provided with the intercooler]. the head needed some machining, had to shell out about 6000 bucks. some custom mounts included. labour charge free. Me & my mechanic worked on it very enthusiastically. Some more machinhg & mods continued, but all of it was done in just 10000 bucks. Dirt cheap if u ask me. brakes need beefing up, & esteem discs are bolt on. works like a charm.
The head is a 12 valve DOHC!!

Re: turbo charged m800
Any mods done to suspension setup? I was wondering how the 800 was stable at those speeds.

Re: turbo charged m800
Not really. theres no way to lower the suspension, or stiffen it for that matter. At those speeds it was scary.
I didnt do it again. Thought of getting a strut brace, bot didnt find one. then thought of making one, but it never got finished. and in any case a strut brace wudnt have helped.

Re: turbo charged m800
do you think strut braces help you in deep cornering and stuff?

Re: turbo charged m800
yep.
i do. strut braces WILL help while deep and hard cornering. irrespective of the car. they increase the torsional stiffness of the car.
what are your views?

Re: turbo charged m800
Strut Braces.
they are nothing but a metal fabrication used to hold both strut towers. During hard cornering, the chasis flexes. the strut towers rtart moving away from each other, resulting in understeer & bodyroll. to prevent this, strut towers are used, which increase the torsional stiffness during hard cornering. minimises bodyroll, increases chasis rigidity.

hmm, looks good but for a car like m800 do you think the strut braces really make any difference?

Re: turbo charged m800
As i said, they make a difference irrespective of the car. Why do you guys have this opinion??
When you change your tyres, doesnt it make a difference? Why not strut braces?? sTiffening the car will make it much better in terms of handling. Any car will benefit from it. Even at low speeds.

Re: turbo charged m800
No idea.no readymade braces for 800. you have to fabricate one. if you know maching, you can do it, or else ask any fabricator to do it.

Re: turbo charged m800
I've also read that strut braces reduces the impact on a single wheel, as the impact is shared to another wheel too.
