For me a phone 'should be a phone'
I was using
Nokia 3310 for more than 6 years
After that, I changed to
Nokia 6680, which at that time cost me around Rs.17800 including 512 MB memory card. It was a really a good phone, but I never understood why I purchased a 3G phone and I had no idea when exactly I will be using the front camera
. (
Secret: I was using my 6680 as vanity mirror too with the help of the front camera ) Unfortunately I lost it during Jan 2009 and I purchased
Nokia E51 with 2GB memory card.
After my 3310, now I am using a PHONE Its really cooooool. Sleek and handy, loaded with what ever you want technologically (I am not that found of camera in cell though it has 2 MP camera.). The
WiFi is really handy and the phone allows direct
SIP configuration. So its just very easy to make any SIP calls. I have
Fring installed in my cell and I am using it to connect to
GTalk from my mobile and occasionally to check
Orkut. I had recently installed the
google search and other related apps in my cell. Its really nice and works excellent.
The only thing E51 lacks is the built in
GPS. So I have to buy it separately. I am using
Nokia LD4W (this is the best GPS from Nokia) currently with
Nokia Maps. I have not switched to
OVI Maps. But I do have an OVI account and my cell is
synchronized to OVI.
If you ask me which phone to buy in the 10k to 12 k band, I would strongly recommend E51 (provided you are not crazy about multimedia features).
Likes:Sleek
Handy
WiFi
SIP Ready
Office Applications
Dislikes:GPS is missing!
Recommendation : If it is Nokia, stick to E series
Expectation:I do hope to break my 6 years record with 3310 with my E51
