Ford to launch Endeavour Automatic!

Toyota gears up for the launch of Toyota Fortuner, Ford plans to defend by launching an automatic variant of its hardcore SUV - the Endeavour. Ford Endeavour currently comes with 2.5L and 3.0L engine option (Thunder+). Both the engines sports 5-speed manual transmission. While at the lower end Mahindra offers Scorpio Automatic and at the higher end the upcoming Fortuner is believed to come with an autobox. Then Ford would be sandwitched between the two and autobox lovers might give the Endeavour a miss. Ford doesn’t want this to happen and an autobox for Endeavour hence becomes necessary. Ford’s five-speed automatic transmission system features an innovative Transmission Control Module (TCM) that can automatically detect and quickly adjust to the changing engine speed and driving condition. It keeps the transmission system always at its peak power band, thus making the vehicle more responsive. Such acceleration rate continuity makes it perfect for both urban and highway driving as well as off road while providing the best possible fuel economy.The 5-speed automatic transmission which perfectly compliments its new powerful “Duratorq” new generation common-rail engine giving the vehicle extra fuel economy and a more smoother acceleration rate.
Along with the 5-speed automatic transmission, Ford may also equip the endeavour and Borg Warner’s Shift-on-the-Fly system. The active-Shift-on-the-Fly mechanism. will enable you to switch between 2wd and 4wd up to 100kmph. Both the Endeavour and Endeavour Thunder+ is expected get the autobox and we expect the price to go up by Rs50,000.

Yeah vijay, that's right. Despite of low price than competitors, Endy is not selling. Maybe due to high service costs, harsh ride and too low third row seats.

Lol, Endy doesn't sells well but it looks like a trick to push up its sales.
But I should mention one thing that Endy is not that much bad car as most of us think, Yeah!I realised this when I sat in Endeavour, I found it quite comfy car and when you sit behind its wheel you really doesn't feel that you are driving a truck as it looks like from out side. :)

yeah vibs but there were quite -ve's for endy when launched, first was its too high price, spares and ASS were questioned, 3 row is only for kids, city driving is pain and whiel all this came other captured market and ford realised it later.LOL..

all the above negative points about endy are true. but i just love it :)

Following the cues from its competitors like Mahindra and Mahindra and General Motors India, Ford India has decided to introduce the Automatic Transmission variant of its Endeavour sports utility vehicle in the near future. The Endeavour will have a 5-speed automatic gearbox based on Ford’s patent technology known as Transmission Control Module (TCM) that can automatically detect and quickly adjust to the changing engine speed and driving condition. The model is estimated to be priced Rs. 50,000 more than its current manual transmission version of Endeavour and will be pitted against Mahindra Scorpio Automatic and Chevrolet Captiva Automatic+. Just like Endeavour’s (Thunder+), the AT variant is also expected to be available with 2.5L and 3.0L engine option. It is also expected to come equipped with Borg Warner’s Shift-on-the-Fly system. The active-Shift-on-the-Fly mechanism will enable you to switch between 2wd and 4wd up to 100kmph.
