Why do you want to change tyres in R15? It has adequate grip. Can do a stoppie in wet roads.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250 in India by May
agreed!! R15 has the best road grip.. i was able to perform a stoppie easily on a wet road.. but the problem is the life of the rubber.. you have to change it at every 6k KMS
I doubt ninja would be under 2 lacks.. as its worth 1.8 lacks, when converted to INR, in Chicago.. for india its is gonna be + import related taxes.. but it should stay under 2.3 Lacks...
Do you guys think Bajaj will be able to provide good quality servicing to the NINJA 250R?? as u all know within the bajaj service network only 30% are actually trained to work on a 220..!!
When i used to live in rajkot i saw a bajaj guy use 150s engine oil for a persons 220..! :frustration:

Kawasaki Ninja in 2009!
We got the answer finally! the much expected Kawasaki Ninja is all set to scrotch indian roads soon. In 2008 Delhi Auto expo, Bajaj announced said it woud assemble Ninja in India at 2008. But ever since the announcement was made, Bajaj has been mum on the issue and Ninja fans was left clueless. But today Kawasaki offficals has come forward and announced the Ninja would be here in India in 2009 itself. “We are still preparing to launch the Kawasaki model (most probably the 250cc model) and it will be this year. Details will be shared later.”Masanobu Kawaguchi, manager (sales and operation control, Asia division), said. Bajaj might import the Ninja 250cc from Kawasaki’s thailand plant as a CKD (completely knocked down) unit and assemble the bike at its chakan plant. As the CKD attracts less import duty than CBU (completely built unit), the Ninja is expected to be price very competetively. Bajaj which is facing the heat because of the advent of FZ-16 and YZF - R15 is expected to use the Ninja to pull back the customers. Ninja is expected to be priced around Rs1 lakh and give Yamaha R15 a run for its money. Ninja would be sold through exclusive Probiking showrooms.

What do you mean by CKD? Will it not have some things the the bike gets in other countries, or will it just be built with cheaper parts?

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250 in India by May
nah.. in the last meeting between Kawasaki n Bajaj it was decided that NINJA 250R will NOT have any indian manufactured parts.. ie in order to check the quality of the NINJA product..
and as we all know CKD units pays less taxes in comparison to CBUs.. so i guess the cost was the important factor for Bajaj..

I read somewhere that Ninja will most probably come as CKD, as Bajaj is aiming a very low price of 150000, and they have already achieved 180000, they are trying hard to bring it down to achieve the target.

This is just a 250cc bike. Though it can't be ridden in chock⋅a⋅block traffic, it can be ridden with ease in most of our roads. Can be used as a daily use.giridhar wrote:looks good but the bike costs about 2 lacks ,it would sell good but it is not possible for good riding in the indian roads u know the traffic bad road etc

Front number plate is awkward. Price is surely on the high side. Hope Bajaj does something.

If its gonna cost 3 F@#K$% lacs then no wonder its launch is being delayed...... It will sink for sure. Front Number Plate position is totally idiotic & mars the looks of the bike!
