    Most of the modern cars have engines mounted "Transverse" which is suitable for front-wheel drive?---
    Some cars still have "longitudinal mounted and real-wheel drive".
    What is the criteria for choosing between them? Design and space in front, size of car and fuel-efficiency in case of Front wheel drive?/

    Longevity of the tranny components and less stress on the box.The box and tranny are inline with each other and not working at 90 degrees.
