Can-am Spyder
Hey guys, I have just registered to ride the Can-am Spyder next Sunday. So I'll have a good review up with pics, but probably a video.
But in the mean time here is a video of it I found.

Re: Can-am Spyder
What is this actually? ATV kind of vehicle or a bike with 2 wheels?

Re: Can-am Spyder
Its a reverse trike, meaning that the 2 wheels are at front with the rear being like a normal bike. Google it.
Have fun Zal!

Ya this is a tricycle bike. Its quite cool, it doesn't lean or anything into a turn.

Re: Can-am Spyder
Here are some pics of the bike. I haven't taken them. This bike has a 1000cc V2 engine which give 106 HP.
Its got ABS, EBD, traction control, something that help all wheels stay on the ground and not lift when turning. All it needs now is airbags.
The cost in Aust/nz is $30000 + For that price I'll have a 1098. :)

Re: Can-am Spyder
I feel its completely impracticable for a country like India, Only people with big farm houses can use it. :)napster wrote:looks interesting but will it be comfortable driving on the streets of india?

Re: Can-am Spyder
Here is an exclusive review, possible one of its first in India about the Can-am
Spyder that I was trying out.
Exterior
Right where to start? How about at the front then.. First impressions that come
to the mind is it looks like some sort of a roadster, with the front two wheels
sticking
out and the make shift like hood at the front, which really is a trunk
it looks like a car. As you walk around to the side everything changes. All of
a sudden its a
motorbike. Everything about the Can-am screams out the
motorbike, (with the exception of the front end).
The Can-am doesn't tilt into turn like a bike and because of that there are G
forces pulling you off the bike (which can be scary).
Interior
The Can-am has a very comfortable seat and is great for long rides. The position you sit in sort of like a naked bike, the handle bars are clip-on but the base being placed up quit high it gives it a naked bike like position. Dials are easy to read and simple. There are three of them, on the left is the speedometer, center is a digital screen which also displays the speed and can also displays other things like fuel and engine temperature and finally on the right there is the RPM. For some reason the RPM revs go counter clock-wise, but it didn't bother me.
Engine and Performance
The Can-am is powered by a 1000cc V twin engine, which gives 106 hp at 9000 rpm and max torque at 6000 rpm. I tested the 5 speed manual one which is works like a normal bike. The clutch is light and each shift is smooth and perfect. I never felt as if the bike was about to stall, even at very low speeds.
The Can-am holds every corner as you plow through it. The scariest thing is the g-forces pulling you out of each corner. Even with all the features like EBD and traction control I got the rear wheel spinning and my back sliding out as soon as I crossed 6000 rpm. The three disc brakes are super strong and are equipped with ABS.
From 50 kph zone to 100 kph zone I just pulled the throttle back and before I even knew I was doing 110 kph. At those high speed the bike was stable and didn't even feel as if I was doing 120 kph.
Conclusion
In conclusion would I buy the Can-am? Most likely no, at the price of $30000 you can get a Ducati 1098. But Over a big and heavy touring bike e.g Honda Goldwing I would go for a Can-am. I only wish that they would make a touring version of the Can-am......oh wait they are. I am not sure on the specs but I can only hope it is something like the Goldwing.

Re: Can-am Spyder
Nice writing over there Zal.
Nice video and Nice pics.
Reading your review, if i'd spend that much amount on a bike, then i'd go for 1098 or in the tourer range, Fireblade.
