Re: suggestions for ice upgrade
How are you going to power the things.
How are the speakers/components powered.
Will the amp only power the subs?
Also the PX300.4 is amazing but not cheap.
JBL 1004 does its job really well.

Re: suggestions for ice upgrade
The JBL 1004 will not play the JBL Subs.
This is because the subs are rated at 2 ohms while minimum bridged impedance of JBL 1004 is 4 ohms.
So you should better look at JBL GTo 7001.
Its amazing to power these 2 subs with a bit reduced gains.
Costs around 13/14

Re: suggestions for ice upgrade

Re: suggestions for ice upgrade
@ Napster.
I know it will power but not to full potential
Local installers have little knowledge about the impedance thing.
The JBL would not wire in bridged mode at 2 ohm and would clip
Its better to get JBL GTO 7001.
Its around 13-14000 grey market without bill.
It is official JBL product and would rock the 2 subs.

Re: suggestions for ice upgrade
dude, in a hatch you dont need to power those 2 subs to the fullest beacuse, one sub powered to the fullest wil shake the hatc, specially the small m800, lol

Re: suggestions for ice upgrade
You arent getting my point.
The sub will clip as the amp will not be able to handle the 2 ohm load which the sub wants and would clip it.
leave alone low power.

Re: suggestions for ice upgrade
6-7k for both of for 1 pair.
JBL's are really bang for the buck.
The illusion electras are really great components if you can spend 7k only on fronts.
You will surely love them.

Re: suggestions for ice upgrade
6-7k for the front is a bit expensive as of now , i dont mind spending that amount but as of nowi need to replace my windshield and get xenon and other stuff too, so i fixed some 6k for the speakers, or ill delay the speakers part and get components directly
