Hey tv...The SsangYong Rexton is a suv based on the Merc M class. Released in Korea by the SsangYong motor company in late 2001, the demand for this vehicle in Korea has been huge. The Rexton offers high standard appointments, quiet on-road performance, car-like handling, and rugged off-road capability...it can be configured to seat seven people or as a five seater for more luggage space...
The car is available only with 4wd and three engines: a 2.7 liter 162 hp/ 342 N·m common rail deisel, a 2.9 liter diesel and a 3.2 liter 217 hp/ 310 N·m petrol engine, all are manufactured under license from Merc...
Rextons are also assembled by the Micro Cars company in Sri Lamka... These Sri Lankan assembled Rextons have at least 30% local content...
In Malaysia, the Rexton II is assembled by Competitive Supreme Sdn Bhd, also the sole importer and distributor of Ssangyong vehicles in Malaysia....
In 2006, the model received style changes, along with more comfort and convenience and was renamed the new Rexton II....
