Performance Kits for R15 Empty Performance Kits for R15

As per Samir Sayed.. Service Head for West division.. Yamaha is planing to launch Performance kits for R15. He also said that a surevy was conducted in which Yamaha's R15 was said to be a "not" so good performer in the lower and the mid rev.
So his words were that Yamaha will bring out a Kit by the end of this year or by the first few months of the next year.

for Mumbai/Pune guys there is a plan for a racing activity in May.. Organized
by Yamaha.. they are looking for possible locations... To set up a
circuit.. MBC (Mumbai Bikers Club) is working with Yamaha for the same cause..

Anyways do you guys think there would be "actually" something for the R15?
    Please post in your thoughts.

    @abhinavgupta
sure buddy.. i had a word with the Planet DSG.. its actually a ECU which will directly fit in the place of R15s ECU.. as per the info we wont need a PC/laptop to reprogram/remap.. they say its the most user friendly ECU ever made.
You will get all the information at the following link

    http://www.planetdsg.com/blog/2009/03/24/whats-a-two-brothers-juice-box%E2%84%A2-fuel-injection-controller/

it would cost around 17.5K as per the information given to me by "two brothers" it would help increase the BHP of the bike to about 22-23, although its still under testing phase but is sure to come to India soon.

R15 is a 16 BHP bike with a pick up of 0-100 in 7.68 seconds and a top end of 145-150kmph (as per speedo)

the increase in speed would obviously be BIG! :D
but i cant say what the exact figures would be..!

    @ Smokin
Buddy i need to correct you.. the Reprogrammable ECUs from
Malaysia/Thailand were thought would be imported as the R15 is based on
the Vixon(i hope i spelled it right) but those ECUs are not going to be
    imported now.

where as these ECUs are a entirely different step
by the two brothers. It is said that they are also going to offer a
exhaust system for the bike which would also help in the increment of
    the performance.

    The web-page says its 17PS/8,500RPM

    1 Japanese PS = 0.987 BHP

    17*0.987 = 16.779 BHP..!

and as we all know the output varies too much sometimes.. thus 16 BHP to be on a safer side.. :)

Regarding the acceleration figures of R15, As far as i've heard, the speedo has a big error and shows optimistic figures. If we consider the true speed with V-Box, etc.. its 0-100 is above 10 secs(exact value not known)

UNECE's 1997 Federal standards allows a speedo error of not more than 5% and also the reading should never be below the actual speed.

So ppl saying that when R15 travels at 145kmph the actual speed is not more than 120kmph are either jealous or less informed..
