    Matiz Problem Empty Matiz Problem

    Post  premabodh 10th December 2008, 7:59 pm

    Hi All;
    I have a 2000 model Daewoo matiz. The problem is that for first 15-17 kms it runs fine but engine goes down after that. I need to restart the engine. After that it stops every 500 meters or so. Once i filled the tank with 1000rs of petrol then there was no stopping of engine but as fuel level went down problem started. There is no much heating of engine. It is a wierd problem. I had given to Sanva Motors but they could not solve the problem. Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?

    Also after giving my car to Sanva Motors the feul average reduced from 16KMPL to 9.5 KMPL. I am having this car for 9 years but these two problems were never there. Can anyone suggest something.

    If anybody is planning to give his/her car to Sanva Motors in Thane please do not do it.

    Thanks and Regards;
    Vikash Anand,

    Tha Matiz needs a thorough check up of its fuel supply line and also electricals. From what you have written a proper diagnosis is difficult.In such cases the fuel supply line is mostly at fault. The fuel injectors and petrol tank cleanliness need to be checked.

    this is the right place for this thread as the performance area tagline goes like this- 'Learn how to turn your car into supercar by doing performance mods like, Turbos ,Engine swaps,NOS, forced induction, tyre upgrades, free flowing exhausts etc!'
    he has not done any performance tuning on his matiz nor is asking anything about it.

    he has a query/problem with his matiz and hence this is the right thread.

    Hao Pem the problem could be due to low pressure in fuel pump,when fuel level is high the pump needs less pressure to s***,when fuel level goes down the pressure decreases,remove the fuel pump and check the fuel pump strainer if it is blocked.IF yes remove and replace.

    +1.The FPR within the pump is not working properly.He either has to replace it or get an ancillary pump added after it.

    Chk both of them and also the fuel line and clean the petrol tank and have a mileage test with approved mechanic for maruti.
    let see if this works.
