Wink Meet Mr.WizeR, Mascot for ageing WagonR.

Post  Road Rocket 20th July 2009, 1:25 pm

In a bid to revitalise the Maruti WagonR brand, Maruti Suzuki India has launched a mascot ‘Mr WizeR’ to represent the model. The mascot with its smart and witty traits is an amalgamation of the brand name ‘WagonR’ and ‘Wise’ is meant to represent the WagonR customers. The company aims to take the initiative to all media domains and is planning to have the cartoon character as the face of future campaigns across print, TV and Internet.

so this shows the confirmation that Alto, wagonR and other ageing models are not phasing out sooner.

    No way.
    Did you thought they will?
Manufacturers (or say volume players)like Maruti, Hyundai, Tata can never discontinue their models, rather they will be happier to give it fresh bumpers, lamps "Beige Interiors" and call it a facelift.
Not sure whether it happens only in India and likes or in other countires as well.

thats what am i saying buddy, they wont phase out any of their ageing models in our market, so we would see wagonr's and alto's with new colours and new names and limited enditions which are never ending. Wink

The only models slated for a phase out, as I heard from company insiders in the garage, from where I took delivery of my Swift today, are the Omni and 800. The others will continue to sell. But honestly speaking, WagonR is a very good car, and it only needs a new engine and revised suspension to keep it going.

Yeah wagon-r has a good place in the minds of many, especially new car buyers. That's the reason its the second largest selling car after Alto. E IV engine, slightly new looks and suspension upgradation should make Wagon-R run better.

+ to that is better rear space which would then be a perfect car to have.

wagon-R petrol is a good pick but not wagon-r lpg, my worst experience in my entire life was with indigo and then its wagon-r LPG, very bad pickup, it hardly reaches speeds over 110, the AC is pretty good in wagon-r, both in petrol and LPG, and next thing is the pillar which blocks the view and the last thing is the road stability, even that is not good, except that everything is ok with the car

the suspension on the wagonR is on stiffer side only to prevent the rolling that is a characteristic of tall cars. thus although ride quality is sacrificed but you get a more stable car, making it more planted on the road. the only thing i dislike about the wagonR is its rubbery gear shifts. other than that its a great city car. and the current engine is powerful enough for the city car. although a new engine would be welcome.
and the best part of the car is the space offered.front and rear space is good. and is an ideal car for a family of 4.rest i will go into details of wagonR in the review that i'm working on.

yeah that would be great hummer, share your wagonR's experience so far, suspension being stiffer is to have better ride quality and is stable on higher speeds.
