Unlikely Automobiles at Unlikely Places

:shock: The milieu in which most automobiles are spotted are familiar. there
are a few exceptions to the rule like spotting a Premier Padmini taxi
in Kolkata, an Ambassador or Santro taxi in Mumbai and so on. Here are
a few pictures of such unlikely cars and two wheelers in unlikely
places, to start with.
The one below is a Suzuki showroom.Adjacent to it, there is a Honda
showroom. Both are reputed companies making two wheelers in India.The
owners of these showrooms are brothers.Ironically, the front parking
area of the Suzuki showroom is filled in by swarms of Activas, Dios,
Unicorns, Shines and Aviators, that have been just serviced. The Suzuki
showroom has very few two wheelers parked in this space.

Santro as Taxi?? First time seeing this :)

yeah zinam, i have also seen Alto as taxis, nice thread anjan, and nice pics.
will add few more pics as have seen this kind of scenes sometimes with dealers having their parking with all other brand vehicles around.. :lol!:

mumbai's old premier padmini (Fiat) taxis are being replaced by maruti omnis. a few of them have wagon R, santro & alto.

i wish all taxis were replaced by such modern cars, omni is again a dated car. why replace old taxis with something which will again become old in few years. logan would be an ideal candidate, but i understand that there are budget constraints.

well raj it is not budget concern to get logans as taxi's in mumbai, infact mahindra renault were the first company approached by MMC, but renault didnt approved their plans to get logans as taxi's which would make this car's reputation from a family luxury sedan to taxi few months back, then maruti was approached and omni was decided there after.

There are Logans serving as Taxis in Mumbai in light green color. The name it had was Meru cabs or something. I could see many Logans there.

What is MMC?

its mumbai muncipal corporation it was them or its transportation lobby who negotiated with renault and mahindra, but things didnt worked and maruti was approached, there after omni was decided.

if not the logan, then why not the dzire or indigo or atleast wagon R or santro? onmis are the most unsafe things on road.

well raj, maybe maruti must have given them mouth watering offer for its not selling omni, for which it may have been decided.

Maruti makes hay while the sun shines, where as M&M- Renault has missed it.

This very macho and muscular Honda CBR landed at the Nagpur Vintage and Classic
Car and Bike Rally- in the background a few oldies (a Morris Minor) can
be sighted.(pic by me posted earlier at teambhp)
