Mahindra Repositioning Scorpio as a SUV

Mahindra & Mahindra is giving the Scorpio an image makeover to position it as a thoroughbred sports utility vehicle (SUV) and do away with multi-utility vehicle (MUV) tag associated with it. Mahindra has given muscle to the Scorpio, which has crossed a total sales of two lakh units, to position it as a vehicle that can handle full off-road driving following the launch of its latest MUV Xylo. Customers tend to treat the Scorpio as an MUV, which the company is now trying to change by providing the vehicle the required looks, features and performance.

“There is an endeavour to position the Scorpio as a complete SUV now that we have the Xylo.” “We have been constantly upgrading the Scorpio and recently we launched the latest version with a more muscular look and also make it ideal for off-road drives,” Mahindra & Mahindra President (Automotive) Pawan Goenka said.

In the beginning of March the company had launched the latest version of the Scorpio, with new design in front grille, headlights, fog lamps, bumpers, embossed side cladding, along with other features such as digital immobiliser. :)

That is true, Mahindra should offer 4X4 option in scorpio, The car looks so mascular and 4X4 option will spice it up! :P

4WD option for the Scorpio would be great. But i think it would be given in the next-gen Scorpio and not to the current one.

Hey, I came to know that 4X4 option is available on scorpio on spl. order, but it comes only in older 2.6 CRDe version. :bball:

I mean this is a car that does'nt demand respect it commands it :evil:
Even truck drivers gives way to this car
I give way every time I see a scorpio in the rear-view mirror
Hell its the only car i actually give way to the others being Ambulances and fire trucks.
Also everytime I sit in this car i feel like the King of the road 8)
I mean you can pretty much fit a .50calibre browning machine gun, or a multi-pod hand held grenade launcher on top provide it with 6inch thick armor plating and tweek up the engine a bit, and have it escort the presidents convoy or give it to the lads on the front line as a personnel carrier, i mean this can pretty much do the job of the US Combat Humvee.

Well DcarGod you do remember every auto show you accompanied me to and how much time i usually spend sitting in the display car. And you do recall on 2 occasions when the mahindra guys got annoyed with me.
